Location

This hotel is conveniently located just across from Canada Olympic Park. The centre of Calgary is about 15 minutes away by car. Guests are able to explore many of the city's top sights such as Calgary Tower and the zoo. Banff's ski area is around 1 hour's drive from the hotel and various other venues, such as Shouldice Park, Crowchild Twin Arenas and Calgary West Soccer Centre, may easily be reached.

Facility

Guests can enjoy the pleasant ambience of one of the 121 rooms, 11 junior suites, 87 suites, 9 single rooms and 11 double rooms. Guests are warmly welcomed by English-speaking staff at the 24-hour reception desk in the lobby. Check-in/check-out service is available round the clock. Amenities include a safe, a currency exchange service and a drinks machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The hotel offers a number of facilities for guests with disabilities. A lift and wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing. Children can enjoy the playground. Additional facilities include a TV room. Rooms

The pool complex ensures comfortable swimming with its indoor and outdoor pools and pleasantly heated water. Children can enjoy a special swimming area just for them.     This was one of the worst hotels we ever stayed at. Room was 31 degrees celsius. A/C blowing hot air even at the lowest setting. Asked the front desk for assistance and told maintenance personal would be starting in 30 minutes (6pm). Waited till 7:30 and again ask front desk where he was. We were told he had to attend a funeral. Really? I asked why I wasn't notified and was met with a sheepish shrug. I demanded a new room which was on a different floor so we had to pack up and unpack again. Not great for seniors with mobility issues. Other problems were out of order vending machines, room cards that had to be reactivated, paint smell due to renovations, out of order pool and hottub and no continental breakfast for the 3 days we were there. With all the choices in Calgary, please go elsewhere.

    We stayed at the Sandman Hotel in West Calgary and had a pretty terrible experience. The pillows were way too thick and overstuffed, and all of us woke up with sore necks. The room was hot and stuffy, and the air conditioning kept turning off and on, which made it really uncomfortable, especially with the heat outside.We were also really disappointed to find out the pool was closed for maintenance. No one told us in advance. When we asked at the front desk, they said we could use the pool at another Sandman location. We drove to the Sandman Downtown as they suggested, but were turned away when we got there. It felt like no one had the right information and we were left scrambling.Honestly, I do not have anything good to say about this stay. It was uncomfortable and frustrating from beginning to end. I would not go back.

    I stayed at this hotel with my kids. This hotel was amazing, clean and the friendliest staff. I would definitely stay there again and recommend to anyone.We don't usually stay in this area but the ski hill is two minutes away and so many shops and cute restaurants to try.

    The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were offered a family room for $10 more which worked out well. They let us stay a little longer past our checout time as we were waiting for medical appointments in the city. Having Denny's restaurant attached was convenient. Security seemed good as moving throughout the complex required a pass card.

    Comfortable beds. Room a little warm and would not cool down even though cold outside, but was not too bad. Great fitness room, friendly staff, good location. Good coffee. I enjoyed my stay at the sandman in West Calgary.. I would stay again, good value for price paid
