    Great hotel, could benefit from better soundproofing…

    Great hotel. Really lovely feel inside, decorated well and felt a lot nicer internally than the exterior lets on. Easy parking and good service. We had a good stay here and didn’t have too many problems sleeping, however the windows & walls allowed a fair amount of noise through. We heard quite a lot of loud/noisy vehicles from the road it’s next to, as well as waking up to a child screaming a few doors down. It always seems a bit of a shame when hotels don’t have good windows next to a road, if it did, it would have been 5 stars!

    This hotel may be overlooked but it was perfect for arrival and departure for our trip to Banff. Stayed here two different nights. Rooms were clean and modern. As an elite member we got an upgrade one night to a balcony room. The lounge had good food although it is worth noting the alcohol is not complimentary. Mimi at the water park really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome when we were the only guests there, thank you!

    Another Great Stay At The Sheraton Cavalier

    We had a last-minute change of plans and needed to extend our reservation at the Sheraton Cavalier. We had a prepaid room for a night under my wife's name and two nights under my name. Peace at the front desk was able to keep us in the same room for our stay. My wife and I were both dealing with illness during our stay, and we appreciated the quiet room and comfortable bed. We like the proximity to the airport, free parking, in-hotel restaurant, and the Earl's restaurant across from the hotel.

    We arrived at the hotel without a reservation & front desk clerk did his best to accommodate our requests. He recognized our higher tier Marriott status, was polite, patient & professional. When we walked into our room, we fell in love & kept falling in love with it more & more as we were settling in. Immaculate cleanliness, nice view of the city, super comfortable bed, nice amenities & everything being in perfect order contributed to the great stay. We were hesitant to book this hotel, because they have waterside & we thought pool area might be full of screaming kids. I was pleasantly surprised. Pool area was very well managed & we enjoyed it. One hot tub was not hot unfortunately, but the other one was, so that was the one we used. We used their restaurant one time for dinner & two times for breakfast & found food to be fine. Evening staff were professional, while morning staff depended on a waitress. We noticed hostess staring at us with frozen smile on her face while we were eating & waitress was laughing with no reason with a forced laugh. It wasn’t too bad though, besides we know how to ignore all this. The lounge for higher tier members like us was very comfortable & we enjoyed it due to exception of one night when lady who was managing it was very very very intrusive. I did answer a couple of her questions & thanked her for telling me the name of the dish that was served. But she actually came to our table when we were eating & started asking more & more questions. I felt bad, because she came across as desperate & I finally told her “Mam, I am sorry, but we are not interested in further conversation, we would like some space if you don’t mind” The reason I am still rating our stay at 5 stars is because these kind of casualties didn’t spoil it for us & we enjoyed our overall stay very much. All front desk staff were pleasant to interact with & professional at the same time. It was a truly memorable stay & we would definitely return if travels ever bring us to the area.

    Great family weekend

    Was a great hotel for a family trip to Calgary. Location was great near everything you need- fast food, restaurants, grocery etc. Free parking always a bonus. Hallways are loud as expected for a family hotel but ear plugs from the desk would be helpful for those of us who forgot. Pool for the kids was awesome! Was warm air and water and the pool where the water slides go in to is 3’11” so manageable for even elementary kids to do on their own. Life jackets were also provided which was appreciated. The kids had a blast!! Only thing missing is a continental breakfast. Breakfast buffet was fine but for 18/adult it’s a little steep for the limited selection. Go to McDonald’s or Wendy’s instead. Overall would definitely return for another family holiday.
