This hotel is located in bustling downtown Calgary with easy and convenient access to the city's public transportation services and the 16.5 km of climate-controlled pedestrian walkways. Facility

Guests have a choice of 525 non-smoking rooms located in a 17-storey main building and a 19-storey auxiliary building. English-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service, cash machine and drinks machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. A lift and wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A number of shops, including a souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. Children can enjoy the playground. Additional facilities include a playroom. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park (for a fee). Other services include a 24-hour security service, a car hire service, medical assistance, a transfer service, room service, a laundry service and a hotel shuttle bus. A bicycle hire service provides all the necessary equipment for exploring the surrounding area. The business centre is on hand for guests' business requirements and provides a fax machine.

Rooms

Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. A balcony is included as standard in some rooms. All rooms are carpeted and include a double bed or a king-size bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Additional features include a mini fridge and a tea/coffee station. Further amenities include an ironing set and a trouser press. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio and WiFi (no extra charge) provide all the essentials for a comfortable holiday. A shower and a bathtub are included the bathrooms. A hairdryer, bathrobes and a telephone are available for daily use. As an extra convenience, bathrooms provide cosmetic products. Wheelchair-friendly rooms can be booked. Family rooms are available for parents with children.

Sport

The hot tub in the pool area promises pure relaxation. Those who wish to stay active while on holiday can enjoy cycling/mountain biking and crazy golf. For a fee, golf is also available. The hotel's location is particularly ideal for skiers. Sport and leisure facilities at the hotel include a gym, table tennis and bowling. There is a wellness area with a spa, a sauna and hydrotherapy treatments. Subject to charge: massage treatments.

Meals

Various dining options are available, including a café and a bar. The non-smoking restaurant provides high chairs for children. A continental breakfast gives guests many delicious reasons to rise and shine. At lunch and dinner, guests can order à la carte or choose a set menu. Diet meals and children's meals can be prepared on request. The hotel also offers special catering options. The hotel offers a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

    Excellent Service and Location, But Not Ideal for Family Comfort

    This was our first family stay at the Westin Calgary, and we received a very warm and heartfelt welcome from Blesilda and the entire staff. The service throughout our stay was excellent, and the team truly made us feel valued as guests.The hotel’s location is a major advantage, right in the heart of downtown, with direct access to the Plus 15 walkway system, which made getting around especially convenient.My only concern relates to the bedding setup for families. The rooms only offered double-size beds, which were quite uncomfortable for two adults. While king-size beds are available, they are typically configured for couples. For families traveling with a young child, even suites only seem to offer two double beds, which can be limiting.Overall:Great service and location, but for family travel, I would likely consider other hotel options that provide queen-size beds or more flexible sleeping arrangements.     Empathy and Professionalism was so appreciated

    Ash in Service Express really looked after us. I thought I would need to speak to a manager. However Ash said let me try to look after you. By the end of her follow up I was left in awe of her customer service and empathy. The Westin Calgary really represents the Westin brand well and I am a committed guest. I just need to find excuses to go a little more often to this property.

    Good location fairly central. Sadly no laundry facilities in the hotel or near by. I was offered I could pay a bit more and go in the newer tower room but I stayed in the other part of the hotel, it had everything I needed. I especially liked the microwave in the hallway

    Disappointing Experience

    In Calgary on a business trip and I am a regular guest at The Westin. Staff are excellent each and every time. The facilities have been an ongoing issue here. I understand the hotel is dated but even the new sauna has been out of service on visits and for a very long time pool was closed as well as the gym was moved to a meeting room. I called this time in advance to make sure everything was working and available to guests which I was assured it was….but to my surprise when I go to use the sauna/pool today I am told it is closed for a private event. This is beyond ridiculous that we are charged full rates but do not get full enjoyment of the property while here. This will be my last visit to this hotel for a very long time. Marriott Bonvoy members can find much better value elsewhere.     We stayed for a week and loved it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The downtown location was awesome. The gym was real, not a pretend one to say they have one. It was nice to have The Keg and a Starbucks off the lobby. The hotel restaurant was also very good for breakfast. We loved the pool, and the hotel even has a sauna. The staff--I said they were friendly--were super helpful and pleasant. Our room was clean and cozy. We enjoyed our stay. By the way, the front desk staff were very nice to us. :)
