  We had a nice experience at the Dorothy Motel. Rooms were clean, it was quiet, good location and we were able to access the hottub and sauna at the adjacent hotel a few times.

  We really liked this place! The location was very convenient and the room was more than adequate. Everything in Banff is expensive, but this was the best value we could find. We liked the courtyard to sit and relax after a full day of hiking and exploring.

  Decent Hotel in Banff Town

  Great Rooms with regular amenities ! Check in desk are across the gas station! Conveniently located just when you enter Banff and there are complimentary ROAM transit pass to explore downtown which is within ~2km.

  A Good Deal!

  We enjoyed our stay at The Dorothy Motel. The room was fairly clean (except for some hairs all over the bathroom; I think the cleaning person needs to wear a hairnet). The beds were pretty comfortable and the pillows were actually full and fluffy. For the price we paid, I think we got a good deal. At the time of writing this, the motel also offers you a bus pass for most of the routes you will need if you plan on using public transportation, which is great. The bus stop, the convenience store, A&W, and gas station are very close by, making The Dorothy a convenient place to stay. Check-in was easy (we went across to Hotel Canoe to do this). We would likely stay here again.

  Reasonable Motel in a Good Location

  The Motel was accross the Road from were you could actually book in, we had to ask a passerby and had no instruction of this on our booking. Motel was okay as far as 1970 Motel rooms go. Some sort of rubberised tile on the floor that looked like a forest floor but the room was clean, although it did have a bit of a smell of marijuana the first night, (( Staff said the only room they had that they could move us too would be a $250.00 Dollar upgrade per night) Not used to this being from the UK but weas a them on our complete canadian trip, so not the only hotel to do it). But they did get us an ioniser the next day which did Kill the smell. Parking on site was a nightmare we were advised by the check in staff to just park on the street, to get up the next morning to see signs saying that if you parked there you would be fined. The following three midweek days parking wasn't an issue, so beware of mis-information. Apart from that the staff were helpful and knowledgeable at reception accross the main road in the Canoe Hotel.There was no food or drink at the Motel but you could go across the parking lot of a filling station and then accross the main road and use the facilities of the Canoe Hotel.There was a CO-OP convienence store right beside the motel and a Burger Joint A&W's. The Motel as with teh two sister Hotels were right on the outskirts of town but the hotel offer s a three day bus pass and the bus stop is right outside the A&W's on the way into Banff and at the Canoe Hotel on the way back. So the town was very accessible from there.
