HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE-BASICALLY ACCUSED OF NOT PAYING

    rating23 May 2026

I have been a regular at Harrison ever since I was a toddler. I’m currently 56 so A LONG TIME. My family used to go when they first opened in the late ‘20’s. When the road there was rocky and you could look down and be scared of the drop in the area apparently. My auntie worked as an RN for Vancouver General and every year, that is where they went for their reunion. My daughter’s first visit was when she was 3 months old. To say I have been there tons of times is an understatement. It has always been my go to. Not that I haven’t had issues from time to time but they have always been rectified. Or at least attempted to be. Fast forward to this last stay. We had dinner at the Copper Room to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. If you’ve ever eaten at the Copper Room, you know it’s spendy. That night they were too busy for how many staff they had. Service was AWFUL. The server was literally rude, complaining when I asked what the Chef’s Special was that night that she was ‘too busy’ to go over it and that she’d ‘come back.’ Yes, I was a little taken back and offended. Food wasn’t much better. But I didn’t complain. But because they were SOO terribly slow, I didn’t want to waste any more time waiting for the server so I put the money for the meals in the booklet and let the hostess know and off we went. When I went to check out the next day, they tried to charge me the almost $200 AGAIN!! Someone was dishonest. I wasted over TWO hours waiting for a manager or SOMEONE to correct it. My daughter was stuck in the car as we had already checked out and left the room, with my SERVICE dog. It was too warm to be doing that I never really got a resolve but because I’m from the US, I wanted to get it corrected so I didn’t have to waste more time with my credit card company challenging it. That delay meant not only a lot of uncomfortable waste of time but also made us arrive at the border at high traffic. The next day, the server called me and left me a message, apologizing for the ‘misunderstanding.’ The guest service person checking me out made me feel like I was a liar. And had no authority to do ANYTHING except waste my time, insult my character and be ridiculously slow finding a manager that I could speak to. The experience was AWFUL. SO I called the server back. FIVE TIMES. I have NEVER been called back. It has NEVER been addressed NOR corrected. And I haven’t been back. And by now, that would have been at least 2 times. To say that I am both disgusted and disappointed is a major understatement. There have been a lot of changes and mistakes over the years. No where is perfect. But due to this experience, I will NEVER be back. Because I work for Disney and am very familiar with the hospitality industry, I don’t normally write negative reviews-especially when I have had mostly excellent experiences but you can’t recover from something like this when EVERYONE drops the ball-no one of any authority clearly follows up nor do they apparently care that they have treated a long-term repeat guest and their family, horribly. I gave them a FULL 6 MONTHS! Apparently they can afford losing my long term business but it is for this reason that I am writing this because this ALL needed to be said. Someone needs to be accountable. Light needs to be shone on this type of behavior. Sadly.UPDATE: I spoke with the new manager at the Copper Room, Manav, who spoke with Ms. Fox who "accidentally" didn't apply the funds left on the table for our meals and assured me she would call me. Two weeks later, she finally called me only to tell me there wasn't anything she could do. And 'haven't I ever made a mistake before? Mistakes happen. We were busy." That's it. No "I'm truly sorry. No nothing." So 9 months later-I am SO done with Harrison Resort. Done. Put a fork in my DONE!

    Okay

    rating18 May 2026

Location is good, nice views. The rooms are large enough, they need some upgrading and to be honest they need to be cleaned better then they are. Service i could improve, asked questions which no one could answer or help with. Bathrooms in the pool area desperately need cleaned throughout the day and night. Overall for a resort and the price it was disappointing.

Once a beautiful building has now fallen to disrepair and neglect

    rating18 May 2026

We stayed in the heritage building. The room smelled moldy - the carpet was very old, and needed to be re-stretched. old lamps with dirty shades. Bathroom was also old and need of updating. The building was in need of cleaning, the windows were dirty and had spider webs in in the screens.Outside, no one had cleaned around the property, lots of beer cans and garbage.

    Pleasant and Enjoyable Stay

    rating17 May 2026

Had a really pleasant mid-week stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Was in a room in the heritage building, and yes, the walls and carpet are a bit worn, but it was clean, the bed was comfortable, and I appreciated the spaciousness and large walk in closet so I didn't have to constantly trip over my luggage like I often do in more "modern" hotel rooms. The only issue we had was we were directly over the door that goes into the pools beside the towel desk, and it banged really loudly everytime it closed - one of the staff said a spring was missing, so hopefully that has been fixed.

Bugs, mice, dirt, dust mites, mold, and bites

    rating16 May 2026

Zhang and Zhu are directors of Vancouver’s Saliance Global Holdings Co. Ltd., which has Chinese connections, and of Aldesta Hotel Group Co. Ltd. The owners of this hotel should be ashamed of what they are offering. The hotel is in great disrepair with extensive building code health and safety violations. There are mouse droppings everywhere. The room was over $430 for the night, and had all the qualities of an east Hastings drug den. Beds were uncomfortable with short black hairs in our bedding. Bathroom had hair all over the floor, blood in the bathroom grout, silverfish running all over the floor and bathtub, bites all over our body, room was musky and moldy, no fresh air, no heat, dust was over all the furniture, several carpet stains, room was filthy. Bed sheets piled in the hallway. We were offered 25 percent discount in the morning (we arrived very late and we were exhausted). And another potential 25 percent after they completed their housekeeping inspection. Not worth even $69 per night. Disgusting. We were itching all day, this place is infested and dirty. Hotel should be shut down. Rooms were very noisy and you could hear every conversation and neighbour’s tv. We decided not to shower or use the facility hot springs due to the cleanliness issues. Staff are not empowered to make the client whole and complete when valid complaints are offered with pictures. Blame housekeeping. The problem is systemic. I’m cancelling the charges on my credit card.
