    Barsa Lounge has appalling service!!!

    rating19 Dec 2025

Barsa Lounge: the worst service I have ever encountered at a hotel bar! My partner and I, after a very nice dinner at Zibo Bar at the hotel, could not have followed that up with a worse experience. We ordered 2 pints, the bartender poured but then proceeded to drop them on the ledge at the bar while looking elsewhere and talking to others - she could not have been bothered to engage with us and I have never been felt to feel less welcome. After leaving the (empty!) bar and chatting in the hall with other employees, she returned to the bar, continued chatting with other employees and proceeded to eat her dinner, shovelling food into her mouth at the edge of the bar, while continuing to chat, mouth full of food, with other employees, all while showing zero interest in her guests, who were, disgustingly, forced to watch this behaviour. This is completely unacceptable for a Marriott property, especially when you expect your guests to fork out $300-$400 a night for a room. If a basic level of service can’t be delivered, then what are we paying for. Appalling is putting it very mildly!

Good for a night's sleep but dodgy IT

    rating05 Oct 2025

My brother and I stayed here on our way back from Quebec to Montreal Airport. It is very large for a smallish town (17 floors) but relies a lot on conferences which I'm sure it does well. The location was ideal for our purpose.Checkin and Out were very efficient; parking is adequate at the front of the hotel and huge at the back, and the rooms and bathrooms are comfortable and efficient.I got a good night's sleep there. The club lounge on the top floor was a nice touch,The wringles are to do with the IT. Customer Wifi, if it works at all, does not work on the top floors; the tv remotes are temperamental and my safe flashed up 'low battery' as soon as we arrived. Unlike the other two hotels we visited the IT option on television is restricted and demands a sign in. Get Chromecasts or whatever !The staff are excellent - helpful, informative and efficient. The hotel and its associated conference centre is linked by a covered bridge to a pretty decent shopping centre - good when it's too hot, cold or wet.We liked the hotel but feel they need to sort out the wifi and tv offering to be more than a one night stop off. Good value, clean, modern.

    rating20 May 2025

Generally, a good stay. The following are the good and bad that we noted. The GoodLocation is good with proximity to the highway, beside a major mall, restaurant choices within walking distance (including one in the hotel)The hotel is clean, modern, reasonably quiet with lots of facilities such as a gym, pool, walkable green roof, and convention facilities. Rooms have nice amenities such as some free water, a safe, small fridge, lotion, bathrobes. Reasonably priced for what you get. Very clean bright indoor underground garage that does not seem too used as people prefer the outdoor option rather than badging in through the gates. The BadThe number of elevators (3) is inadequate if busy. The lounge for members is not well stocked or staffed or attended adequately. Food is really basic. Don’t buy the lounge as an option. Parking outside can be scarce but more outdoor around the side. Front service could be good or bad. You need to advocate for yourself clearly, then they are more helpful. If an event, the noise from the green roof is disturbing, but only to 10pm. Overall: Good value, modern hotel. A touch of luxury

    rating12 Mar 2025

This was beautiful property with excellent service. This was the nicest place we stayed during our nearly 2-week long road trip from Toronto to PEI and back. Enjoyed the clean spacious room and luxurious toiletries. Would definitely return. Great hotel close to Montreal

    rating04 Aug 2024

This was just a stopover on our way back from our eats coast trip but I was pleasantly surprised. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Parking was free. For those with Club Lounge access, I would say this is just average. While it is nicely situated on the top 17th floor with an open patio seating, it’s not much of a view in this town. The usual assortment of drinks and snacks, and I was happy they had unsweetened carbonated water. Breakfast service was nothing special with eggs as the only hot item. They had Montreal style bagels which reminded me to take a detour to St Viateur to buy a few dozens to take home.Would definitely stay here again.
