read the small print

The hotel is in a rather grotty industrial area, but all facilities of the town are easily reached by car or even on foot. My room was spacious and comfortable, with a built in kitchenette, a well appointed bathroom and good wifi. Service was personable, though complimentary breakfast was limited and stodgy, as seems to be the case generally in North America. I was able to switch off the noisy AC fan, another standard feature of hotels in Canada and the US. As a Hilton Honors member (I’m not sure I even knew I was) I received the valuable gift of two small plastic bottles of water, upon check-in. Rather than being overwhelmed by the hotel’s generosity I rather took this as a hint that that the tap water was a bit dodgy. Only one other significant defect stands out, but for me was a rather major one: my room was situated immediately opposite the ice machine on my floor, and its loud noises disturbed my sleep. The small print of the hotel’s receipt, sent by email and also given in hard copy, indicated that the 250 CAD credit card hold for ‘extras’ would be voided minimally 72 hours after check out. I cannot see any legitimate reason for this delay, which looks close to business malpractice unworthy of the Hilton brand and is not offset by 2 bottles of mineral water. Rather it leads me to lower my ranking from 4 bordering 5 to just scraping a 3.

Our first time in a Home2 Suites hotel and it was a welcomed surprise after a 8 hour driving day for myself and my beautiful wife. Check-in was easy with a very kind lady Christine. Our very nice room with queen bed was warm on arrival, comfortable, clean, and perfect for our one night stay. Microwave/convection oven was nice for warming water for our tea. Located close to fast food options and hot breakfast options in hotel are excellent, no need to go anywhere else. Indoor pool looked inviting so bring swimsuits for early morning swim. We would not hesitate to stay again when in Fort St John.

Clean room with a full sized fridge! Seriously, it’s a great place with great rates. The breakfast was fresh, with the best eggs and waffles. Pillows were a little thin, but the mattress and sheets made up for it. Big parking lot, with lots of turning room.

They have the most amazing showers here. The rooms are up-to-date in great shape and clean. The breakfast was amazing anything you could ever want. I will seek out this chain in other cities on our travels. I doubt though any of them will be as great as this one was.

WOW. If you have found this hotel you can stop reading and book here immediately. If for some reason you want more information, here it is. It is located in a clean, safe area right off the highway. Although there's not much of a neighborhood or charm to the area, it is centrally located. Plenty of restaurants and delivery options nearby.Anne-Marie was absolutely amazing. I stayed with a brand new (to me) 5 month old puppy rescue who has boundless energy. Anne-Marie helped me select a room with easy in/out access and loaded us with treats and love. She was a total gem and deserves a big raise. The hotel is sparkly new and super clean. Room was also sparkly new and super clean. There is a comfy seating area with fire pit out front and although it faced the parking lot, it was cozy and enabled my pup to say hi to all the incoming guests which she loved.Lastly, my pup had an accident in her crate late night when the laundry room was closed. The crew lept into action and opened it up for me so I could wash her blanket. In the morning I went to put it in the dryer only to find that a staff member put in the dryer for me and it was ready to go first thing. Truly above and beyond and showed how generous and caring the staff are. Didn't I tell you to stop reading and book this place? Book it!
