  Insufficient blankets on bed - froze !! Turned heat up but was noisy and blew in my face. Heard people in room above talking etc, Toilet worked poorly !!

  We had to stay in Golden for a night, that turned into two nights, due to an Avalanche situation blocking #1 highway! We discovered the situation early in the day and decided, as we had the time, we would check out this motel, INSPITE of the poor reviews! Turned out to be a fortunate decision! Navi, a very pleasant Front Desk Mgr. (Cared enough about HER motel, that I asked her if she was a Principal, in the business. She isn't.) They are in the middle of a complete remodeling! New appliances, Microwave, larger bar size fridge, New Keurig coffee maker and furniture, including the bed, bath etc. The breakfast area has been remodeled and Navi says, next week they will have a active breakfast. (In the interim, we were able to go to the Ramada Inn with our key, for a nice breakfast.) Navi says they expect this refresh will be completed by the end of April, 2026. They then plan to give the outside a freshening. Everything was Fresh and Clean! The only negative I see, for a refresh, they seem a little short on plug outlets, with all the electronics we have today. Perhaps they will still rectify this?

  No Curb Appeal but Adequate Accommodation

  We recently stayed at this property and were hopeful that it would be as cute as the last time we stayed there. We were surprised when we drove up that it looked like it was closed and we thought we had been scammed. The Motel 8 sign had nothing on it (blank) and when driving up all the blinds were closed. We could barely make out the “open” sign. The property was poorly maintained, and the common areas were sadly ignored with cobwebs on the stairs, parking lot overgrown with weeds and garbage in the green spaces. We were in a room on the second level and it was just adequate. It had new carpet, the sheets were clean, the bathroom, although small was fine. The pillows on the bed are too small for a queen bed. The microwave was clean, the fridge was clean although it needed to be defrosted as we could only use one side. There is no ice machine at this hotel so we paid $5 at the liquor store next door. Showers are okay except the shower head is scaled up so it sprays everywhere. The TV was great and it was quiet at night except for the air conditioner that seemed to work on 2 speeds low and loud high. Last time we stayed there for the same price, they offered breakfast which is not available now. Check in was alright however the young lady was lacking in customer service skills and mumbled a lot and we repeatedly had to ask her to repeat herself. Didn’t seem excited or happy to have our business. Would we return? No, not in the near future.

  Worst hotel say perhaps ever - avoid at all costs

  The walls were blotchy with different colors of paint due to apparent repair jobs on the walls. There was also a huge gash in the wall from a chair being scraped against the wall. The toilet was leaking and constantly running. There was also no kleenex in the dispenser. Worst of all they provided no free light breakfast as advertised. Other than that the unit was clean and quiet, perhaps because only a handful of people were staying at the hotel in prime tourist season. This place was worse than a motel 6.

  Disgustingly dirty

  Disgusting do not visit here. Everything was dirty washroom slime build up in the shower. It has never been cleaned properly. The sheets, were yellow stained and so were the towels. The floor was sticky. The door frame was cracked and had obviously been kicked in and the walls were very dinged up and grimey.
