    Very poor ambiance. The room had some broken light fixtures. The functional ones barely produced any light. The room had a skylight, but the curtain on the skylight was stained because of the leaking water sprinkler. The two showers (yup, two of 'em) in the bathroom looked fancy, but not very efficient. The toilet had stains. One of the towels was torn. Overall, not the standard for the price.

    I sent this letter to Johnny, the owner and received no answer. That speaks for itself.I got your name from the person at reception when we left.We arrived 02.05.26; we left 06.05.26.As the owner, you should be aware of the following safety concerns.1. The elevator was pitch black for the duration of our stay. This is serious. It was brought to the attention of the front desk from the first day and nothing was done to fix it.2. We were given room 212 on arrival. There are three [3] steps immediately inside the door, painted black and without safety caution strips. I fell down the stairs. We immediately asked for a different room and the next day we were moved to 312. This needs to be fixed.3. The thermostat did not work in room 312. The temperature was set for 65; the temperature in the room was 76. There were no instructions to adjust the AC. The front desk person gave us a fan to circulate the air.4. There was never any soap in the dispenser in room 312.I am asking for a refund for one [1] night, as compensation for the above issues.I have reported the safety issues to the Regie du batiment du Quebec and advised the mayor’s office of the detrimental effect of substandard accommodation on tourism.I have not yet gone online with my concerns.Carla Canizares

    For the second time with this hotel i had to call several days later to have my 200$ security deposit back...i think they do it on purpose i have stayed there 30-40 times and it is now terribleno water pressure in the shower

    This hotel was difficult to rate- while a super cool boutique hotel vibe it was missing some elements to make the stay more comfortable. Our room had no hand soaps in the bathroom. We had to use the wall dispenser in the shower to wash our hands which was odd. We also had no sugars or stir sticks for our in room coffee - it seemed as though the room (while decently clean) had not been restocked after the last use. We also hadn’t realized the room on the third floor had a giant skylight in the centre of it- which while neat during the day woke us up bright and early at 5:45am. After arriving late the previous night we had not expected this and it was less than ideal. This was not disclosed upon booking or check in so we had no way of avoiding it. The fabric covering for said skylight was also stained from some sort of water issue. Which made it look dirty and not so aesthetic. The one bedside hanging lamp had also been completely removed and the empty electrical hole was obviously vacant beside the bed. Which was also not the prettiest. On the flip side the bed was super comfortable and the sheets clean. The breakfast in the morning was perfectly adequate- Cereals, juice, coffee, croissants and pastries, I know some reviews had issue with the breakfast but we were pleased. I would say if you just need a place to crash this hotel is adequate. It’s just shy from being great and definitely has potential if the owners step it up in the areas mentioned.

    Memorable hotel with charm, perfect location!

    Hotel Chez Swann is incredible. We came for the Montreal F1 Grand Prix, WOW! The welcome, the room, the location, the street view, the staff, everything! It is truly in the center of everything, just steps walk away from shops, cafes, the metro, etc. We had a car and parked next door in the garage which was super convenient. Staying here made our first Montreal GP very memorable.
