    Never ever again

    rating27 Jul 2025

Completely agree with all the negative comments. We travel extensively and have stayed in many low-end hotels in the Caribbean, but we have never encountered such a poorly maintained place. The city should review its license and consider closing it due to high health risks.

worst hotel i have ever been to

    rating27 Feb 2025

one of the worst hotels i have ever been to. room was tiny. had stains all over the carpet and on the mattress. place has a strict no smoking policy and yet it constantly smells like cigarette smoke. the room i booked was for 2 adults and i got a bed barely big enough for one person. not to mention the air freshener thing they put in my room made it so hard to breathe that i had to unplug it.. which in turn led to my room smelling like smoke... what the heck is this place

    No frills Hotel

    rating31 May 2024

This is a no-frills place that did the job for the brief amount of time that I was in the city! Everything was decent if you don't expect the "frills". It is central and near all the amenities. Great if you don't drive. Clean and decently-maintained.

    Hotel? No....HOSTEL

    rating27 Feb 2024

Do not believe the pictures online! No tv, fridge, microwave, no amenities (towels, soap, handtowels, facecloths, shampoo, etc). Our flight was delayed and we were going to be checking in slightly later than expected. We tried a couple times to phone the hotel to make sure that would be ok and both times dealt with someone who barely spoke English who seemed to agree it would be ok. Upon arrival we had to ring the doorbell (which we found out later is normal everytime you get to the hotel, day or night), we were treated suspiciously, being asked for a deposit in cash (Would you like a reciept?" "Um, yes please?" lol after which they wrote the reciept in a flip receipt book). Narrow, steep stairways (which is fine,if you travel like us with just backpacks), but no apparent elevator for anyone of limited mobility. Our room had a very murdery vibe, definitely painted over a million times. Seemed swept in obvious areas but do NOT look under the bed or in sketchier areas of the room!! Only a sink in our room (right beside the bed), with a rock hard bed and very thin pillows. We had to run to the Dollar Store down the street to grab any towels, toilet paper, soap, hand towels, shampoo, conditioner, etc. that we required for our stay. The only toilets on the floor had locks from 1920 that maybe locked, maybe didn't and flooded almost every time you used them (don't flush!!). Also, be sure to bring your own toilet paper because almost everytime I went there was barely any on the roll with no extras, even though I frequently politely asked staff to check the supplies in the bathrooms. The showers (in the hallway....shared usage) were newly renovated and fine, but no towels or amenities provided. Most of the staff were very friendly....just not the experience we were expecting. If they called themselves a hostel, rather than a hotel, it would have clarified some of the experience. Luckily we were there for a music festival and only spent about 4-6 hours in the room per night. Will definitely not book there again. See my pics for more clarity

    Terrible First Experience in MTL

    rating19 Nov 2023

    - Disappointed upon arrival for a one week stay (end of September)- To get in you have to always ring the door bell- Old/vintage appearance, very steep and narrow stairs, tiring to climb and carry your luggages (be careful!!)- Unpleasant smell in the air, nothing screams new and fresh (had to buy and air freshener- Images online are deceiving from in-person- First room ($84/night): no shower or bathroom (had to use the public facilities), no TV, small room with super tight space, room was hot as hell and ceiling fan hasn't been working- Had to upgrade to a bigger room with privacy (day 2), paid extra ($90/night).- Second room: no AC and ceiling fan super noisy, no microwave, no refrigerator, no TV, bed is bouncy and quite uncomfortable to sleep on (sheets fall off and hang loose on the ground)- The cleaning lady randomly barged into our room one day without knocking, no mannersAlthough the second room was much better than the first, it was such hassle and we were still unsatisfied as there was no TV, microwave or refrigerator as advertised to cook, heat up, and preserve our foods - we always had to eat out at restaurants. We did not ask, but even though they claim a microwave and refrigerator "is available upon request", it would still be an inconvenience if they are not kept in the room. The pricing just did not make any sense for what we received. This place should be called, 'Motel Arena Palace' because it does not give hotel vibes at all - they wish! It felt like a small college dorm or a hostel. Do not even bother wasting your time and hard-earned money, or even a day here! The payment is definitely non-refundable.Also, I still have yet to receive the $100 deposit fee at check-in that supposedly is a "temporary hold for room state/any damages in the room" and gets refunded after your stay (already paid for, prior to arriving)? - it is a scam! There is no reflection in my bank transactions that indicates this. I contacted the motel about this repeatedly for clarity, but received no real response. Yesterday, I was finally able to reach the manager, again, and he mocked me for not speaking French when he clearly knows English (we heard him speak it), and hung up without answering my inquiry. Eventually, my number was blocked... Is it guilt? They don't even have a website (red flag!). We had found this place online through super.com (hard to get a hold of them, no response, even after leaving a voicemail!) thinking it was "super" affordable and decent, after canceling our initial Airbnb last minute (due to the long distance from Montréal). We wish that we had read the reviews beforehand because they all ring true and this would have saved us all the unnecessary hassle and stress, big time! Motel Arena and Super have no accountability or transparency whatsoever; staff members are sneaky and do not truly value their customers needs, nor their wellbeing - how they are both still in business is beyond me.Run, immediately! There are way better hotels around this area, so book elsewhere and do thorough research.
