  No frills motel stay

  A solid motel stay. The pool with the sauna and hottub is a nice bonus - especially for families. Staff were friendly and I really like the noon check out.The main reasons I don't give it higher is that the location is sortof in the middle of nowhere (there is a Mike's nearby though - doesn't appear on Google map all the time!), there is no central air and the air conditioner is a bit loud, and the rooms are slightly old so could use a fresh updating. The breakfast is also ok - nothing wow, but covers the main items (eggs, sausages, and some options for bread).But honestly, these are mostly minor things. I would give it a 3.5 if I could.

  First of all...the beds are not Queen (80"x60") but XL Full sized (80"x54").Hotel was aware that I had service dogs with me (stated in additional requirements field when making the reservation ). The hotel even later called me to suggest providing a room on the main floor with a private exit to help with my dogs ecit and entry to our room as we were staying 3 nights. This is at least the third time staying at the hotel. The day after checking in, late in the afternoon, hotel front staff came pounding on the room door demanding that I remove my service animals from the hotel. I responded that this was at least the 3rd time we had stayed at the hotel with my service dogs and never had a problem. Further I told the front desk clerk that a member of the hotel had even called me to state that he wished to put us on the main floor of the hotel to assist in our entry/exit of the building. (I have his name).The front clerk then again order me to remove my service dogs from the premises and stormed off to front dest with a cleaning staff member (witness) in tow.I retreived my booking information and serivce dog documentation and went to the front check in counter. On arrival the front dest clerk stated she had looked up my booking reservation and had just noticed the notation that I had two service dogs with me but didn't notice the statement as the size of the faunt was to small for her to read. She stated every thing was good now and left the area for the back office. Didn't even apoligise for her error and embarresment and stress it caused me.The next day I again had banging 9n the room door. This time it was the "maintaince man" with a witness next to him stating that he needed access to fix thr rooms rear door. He was asked why halfway through our stay, it was decided that the doir jeeded repair ? No response. He was asked why the door wasn't repaired prior to our stay. Again no response. He was informed that we were checking out the next day abd he could repair the door on our departure. At this time he and his witness left. I forgot to mention that I was sick in bed with a bad headcold during this time.A perfect example of staff not performing due diligence at work and laziness.Further, claiming to need to later enter the room for maintenance us nothing but harassment.This hotel used to be a place you looked forward to staying in but not any longer.

  Terrible - would not recommend

  This was the last night of our 11 day family vacation. We were going to the area for a soccer match. I booked the hotel room February 23rd through Expedia. When we arrived at 5:30pm she had my printed reservation that was made February 2024, but we were not in the system. The customer service agent kept apologizing but said she could only give us a room that was not what we reserved. (We reserved 2 doubles, she gave us a queen with pullout - no compensation.) After 30 minutes, we got to the room and it was a sauna. It was as if someone had the heater turned up and no one had opened the door in months. We called front desk immediately for help. She said she would get someone. We realized the room didn’t have power. After 10 minutes we got a phone call that no one would be coming, but that she checked and a hotel down the road could take us and honor our booking. I assumed they were “sister” locations, only upon arrival at the new hotel, we were told they had 1 room left, at a cost of $30 more and they were not affiliated in any way so they would not honour our reservation. By this time we were late for our soccer match so we just went with it. I would not recommend hotel WelcomInns due to their lack of integrity, accountability, and room conditions.

  Pros.Good locationGood size roomGood restaurants aroundGood breakfast areaCons.Air conditioner was on all night. Couldn't get any sleep Frig in room, the door did not shut properly. Our food was a write-off Bath tub did not drainNot enough towels for 2 guests. Only 2 medium towels provided. Only got 1 shampoo. No conditioner

  The hotel is clean, rooms are decent size, beds are comfortable. The hotel inside temperature is extremely warm to the point its not comfortable and stuffy. Our room air conditioner did not work at night and our room temperature at night was up to 25C, it was next to impossible to get any sleep, we were a group and most of us had the same issue. There is no hair conditioner(one time I didn't bring any as most hotels have it), and hotel doesn't have any kind of toiletries incase you forgot something to bring with you.Breakfast was decent and in the good space eating area. Pool was clean, kids enjoyed it.If you don't speak French all the staff has very limited English, communication is challenging. Our group arrived 1 hour before the check in time, the person who was at the front desk refused to check us in, said the rooms were not ready, we waited in the lobby, what really happened, this person was off her shift in 30 min and didn't want to start checking in the group incase she ran past her shift time, as soon as she left, the new person checked us in and all the sudden all the rooms were ready and there was no issues checking us in 30 min earlier. A person at the front desk when we checked out was not the friendliest, face was full of attitude and eye rolls, was on the phone the whole time I tried to check out, no thank you, no buy...nothing....asked what's my room number and took the keycards.
