I will not stay here again

    rating07 May 2026

First- the good:I chose this hotel because of its location- we drove to Montreal for a concert at the Centre Bell. Usually I stay in the old town, but my go-to hotel is currently closed for renovations, and since we had a long day of driving I wanted a hotel that was close to the concert venue. The room was clean and spacious. The gentleman, Mitchell, who seated us at breakfast was lovely and made us feel very welcome. The lady who was at the front desk when we checked out was very friendly and professional as well. The bad:1. The front desk receptionist was rude to us at check in. I’m that person who goes out of my way to be polite to strangers in public, especially those in the service and hospitality industry, and was taken aback by this women. I thought maybe I was just worn out from the traffic and detours in the city, but my traveling companion couldn’t believe how condescending this woman was (she even grimaced and rolled her eyes at me- over the parking garage when she asked where our car was). She couldn’t even muster a smile or pleasant greeting when we got to the desk… but the condescending attitude and eye roll were over the top. I’ve never been greeted like this at a hotel, ever. 2. The hotel website said our room (a “superior double room with two double beds”) would be on a high floor. We were on the 4th floor in a 9 floor building. That is not a high floor (not to mention our view was of a courtyard, so they didn’t even try to make up for it.) It would be kind of the hotel to advertise honestly, charge accordingly, or refund part of our stay for their deliberate misleading.3. Cheapskate amenities. For example: Our room was advertised to sleep four adults- but there were two coffee pods, and there was a sign that said if we used more than two per day we would be charged $1.50 for each extra one. There was also a sign that said not to store personal goods in the mini fridge. My turn for an eye roll. Since one night cost $435 CAD (including breakfast for two, taxes/fees) I expected actual glasses and not paper cups. The hotel pretends to be environmentally friendly, but really it’s just a cheapskate move. The meh: The room was huge, but since it could sleep 4 adults it was surprising to only have one sad little uncomfortable armless chair to relax on. The pillows had actual lumps in them. The soaps/lotions are in large pump containers- no problem with that- except the pumps barely worked, which is annoying when you’re trying to wash your hair. Maybe that’s a small thing to note- but that’s also what happens when someone is blatantly rude to you at check in- you start seeing all the irritating things…. especially at that price point. The air vent sounded like a jet taking off, and I could hear people talking in the next room- just a normal decibel level- but it was surprising how clearly I could hear them.Lastly, if you’ve read this far, a note about breakfast since there are a lot of conflicting reviews. If you just want a small breakfast (like grabbing a couple of eggs or a bagel), then skip the cost and go elsewhere. However, we really enjoyed the variety. Fresh fruit and vegetables, cold cuts, eggs, yogurt, savory items. Yes, it’s pricey, but it was nice to be able to go downstairs, have a good breakfast, and then go about our day. ThomasDeegan, at Novotel Montreal Centre, responded to this review Dear Anna Dechene, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed our location, breakfast variety, and found your room clean and spacious. We are very sorry, however, that your check-in experience did not reflect the level of service we strive to provide, as our front desk team is often praised for being welcoming, professional, and helpful. We would also like to clarify that our “Superior Double Room” refers to the room category and added space, rather than guaranteeing a higher floor within the hotel. We appreciate your comments regarding the amenities and comfort of the room, and your feedback will be shared with our team as we continue working to improve the guest experience.Regards,

Come here yearly (sometimes more) for workGot an oversized room this time.Everything in good order and as expected.Appreciate the bottled shampoos, soaps vs single use.The shower was fantastic, lots of hot water (a lot of places I haves stayed water is like warm especially at peak times).Horrible TV system, slow, doesnt turn on the wallBring standard USB cables, not direct USB-c but like they have bedside outletsRestaurant was good, catered by hostMeeting room was spacious and like they have outlets at every sitting spot.Overall great place to stay. Nice Location & not Overpriced

    rating05 Feb 2026

This hotel is located really close to the Bell Center and is reasonably priced. It has valet parking but, you may have to park elsewhere if you have a higher vehicle. There is parking that provides more clearance about a block away. It has an on site bar and restaurant with many options within walking distance. Rooms are clean and the staff are friendly. ThomasDeegan, at Novotel Montreal Centre, responded to this review Dear Cancun61, Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed our location near the Bell Centre, the clean rooms, and our friendly staff. We appreciate you mentioning the parking options and nearby dining choices, and we hope to welcome you back soon.

Great location, perfect for a Habs game

    rating02 Feb 2026

We stayed here as we were catching a game at Centre Bell, and the location for that is perfect. We had no issues with parking, and check in was a breeze. The room was as I’d hoped for, and we didn’t choose to have breakfast here as there are several great options nearby. ThomasDeegan, at Novotel Montreal Centre, responded to this review Dear Alexander W, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! We’re glad our location worked perfectly for your visit to Centre Bell and that parking and check-in were smooth. It’s great to hear the room met your expectations, We hope to welcome you back again soon, whether for another game or a future stay in the city!Kind regards.

Excellent hotel in the heart of Montreal

    rating16 Dec 2025

We recently spent 4 nights at this well-maintained hotel located around the corner from Saint Catherine Street and a stone’s throw up the hill from the Bell Centre. We enjoyed the varied breakfast offerings at the in-house restaurant (including the buffet) and evening drinks at the bar. Our King Room was well-appointed although I question why the bar fridge was locked. Special thanks to Kaelya at the front desk and Kia at the bar for their friendliness and helpful demeanor! ThomasDeegan, at Novotel Montreal Centre, responded to this review Dear lovethesunnl, Thank you for your kind review. We’re pleased you enjoyed our location, breakfast offerings, and bar, and that your King Room was comfortable. Your feedback regarding the bar fridge has been noted.A special thank you for mentioning Kaela and Kia — we’ll be sure to share your compliments with them.We hope to welcome you back soon.Best regards,
