  I stay at the Homewood Suites hotel in North Bay every year for work. This past fall, I stayed at Homewood on and off for two months. During a 10 night stay, I experienced a severe case of bed bugs that left me with 15 bites on my face, several bites on my neck, arms and hands. When bringing this up at the front desk I did not receive any apology, and after their reimbursement of two one-night stays, I tried calling, to which they refused to answer the phone, stating that they had already given me all they can offer. After the incredible inconvenience of this situation, not to mention the anxiety it has caused, I am extremely disappointed with their lack of initiative in helping their customers or at the very least, have the decency to pick up their phone and apologize.

  Average, clean and wonderful breakfast

  The location is excellent in that it is right off the highway and fairly close to fast food and restaurants. The lobby was very clean and open, people were enjoying the large tv. It was somewhat pricy but I didn’t have the lovely breakfast provided. The room was very clean and quiet.The entrance off Gormanville, there’s no signage which it badly needs.   Less than impressed with the room and customer experience

  I recently stayed at Homewood Suites by Hilton North Bay, and unfortunately, this experience fell far below expectations. The hotel was nearly booked up, so room selection was limited. Even so, we paid close to double what we’ve paid at the North Bay Homewood location in the past and expected a clean, well-maintained room.Instead, our room was disappointing: the carpet had a large rip, the cutlery drawer was a mess, and the bathroom tiles were discoloured. These are not minor issues for a hotel that positions itself as premium.I rarely complain, but in this case I brought my concerns to the front desk. I was assured management would contact me—yet after three unreturned calls, it wasn’t until my fourth attempt that the General Manager finally called back. Her response shocked me. Rather than acknowledging the condition of the room or showing any concern, she insisted the rooms were in “pristine condition.” That dismissive approach showed no accountability and no consideration for the customer experience.This was an extremely disappointing stay. Based on both the poor room condition and the lack of professional customer service, I cannot recommend this hotel. We will not be booking at this location again, and after this experience, we are reconsidering staying with any Hilton property in the future.

  Definitely NOT worth the money

  I recently stayed at your North Bay, Ontario property, and I'm writing to express my disappointment in the quality of my rooms. I booked at your property because my stay in 2024 was wonderful. Unfortunately, this year's stay was not.The first room I was booked in was 614. On the second night of my stay, the ceiling sprang a leak above the entrance way. On my way out for the day, I informed the front desk of this. The response was "If it's bothering you, we can have someone from Maintenance have a look." When I returned at the end of the day, it still had not been looked at. The ceiling eventually stopped dripping; however, the leak had made its way to the light fixture above the door. This was addressed with the explanation that "it be ok, because we have electrical shut offs." I was also informed that the maintenance person would determine whether or not I needed to switch rooms?!My room was eventually switched to another on the same floor. The new room has water stains on the ceiling, and a "hole" under the carpet leading into the bedroom, which creates a tripping hazard as it causes you to catch your toe on the metal transition between the rooms.The television in the bedroom does not work. I was given new batteries for the remote. That was not the solution. Someone came up to "troubleshoot," and it was explained that it was just an internet lag that was causing the problem. This makes no sense as the TV in the living room works just fine, and they are back to back to each other.Add to all of this frustration and inconvenience, the silverfish that seem to be living in both rooms.The silverfish were reported on the first day. The response was "Oh. I have those in my basement. They're harmless."For the most part, the staff did their best, but I can't say that I would either recommend or stay at this property again.
