  We won't be staying here again or recommend this hotel. Our room bed was dirty and had black long hair all over it ( we are blonds) kitchenette was not equipped with even a basic pan ( it has a oven, you need a baking sheet pan!!) We asked for k cups for coffee every singe day and when we asked for a quite a few rather then having to come down to lobby every morning, we received decaf.No parking for paying hotel guests (our room was $531 a night ), event guests were prioritized and we had to fight for parking or park and walk from a neighbor hotel. Rooms are dated with chipped walls and chipped run down Thrift store furniture. The bathroom cabinet doors were hanging off the hinges.We told all our friends at the dance comp not to stay here. We drove 12 hours from Edm and regretted this choice of hotel.

  Wore out property with unresponsive staff and management.

  The views from the location are amazing. The hotel itself is maybe a 3 star in need of a big renovation. The hallways boast new carpet and a fresh look, but it stops there. Tired furniture, outdated fixtures and appliances, slow elevator, and management & staff who just don't care. They told me they offer room service, but when I went to order, I was told there was no one to deliver it to the room. Surely someone is cross trained to do that. The boardwalk was closed for repairs and has been for a while, but there was no mention of that when making the reservation. The biggest issue was no heat on our final night. A call to the front desk and was told maintenance would be there shortly. Two hours later, no maintenance, and another call to front desk where the girl argued with me that she sent maintenance. I was in the room, they never came. About 20 minutes later, maintenance came, but could not fix it. They brought a small space heater and told me I would need a second one and they would be right back with it, guess what, they never returned. I called twice to speak with the manager. Not available, in meetings. Asked for the manager at check out, not available, in meetings. Finally the manager called me that evening after check out, listened to my concerns, and told me he would review my folio and email me back letting me know what adjustment could be made. I asked for one night comped. Guess what? No email. I finally told my story on their guest satisfaction survey and two days later the manager emailed me and gave me 50% off one night plus a refund of the resort fees, which I was not to be charged to begin with as it was a part of the group deal negotiated. The most disappointing was that no one, including management followed up on a guest concern in a timely manor. I am eager to read the response to this review that will sound like the same response to all of the other many 2 and 3 star reviews. We take it seriously, we will use it to improve, blah blah blah. Taking it seriously is following up with the guest in a timely manor and not blowing them off until they write a review. Stay elsewhere, if you experience an issue, you will wish you had.

  Disappointing Stay at Manteo Resort Despite High ExpectationsAfter a busy 2.5-week journey from Vancouver stopping off at other beautiful locations and hotels for our 25th anniversary , we were looking forward to relaxing at Manteo Resort, we were into the last few days of our 3 week trip. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t live up to the expectations set by the “Delux guestroom, lakeside ” that we booked.The view was obstructed by overgrown trees and a smelly stream, making the promised lake view nearly nonexistent. The balcony was small and basic, with cobweb covered furniture that clearly hadn’t been used or maintained. While the bed was comfortable and the room itself pleasant, the bathroom was cramped and oddly designed the basin was located outside the bathroom door in the main room.There was also an awful noise which vibrated in our room and our friend’s room , we presume this was from the air conditioning motors . It could also be heard in the corridor. Our friends had a disturbed nights sleep with there door rattling all night , so they did complain to reception and were moved to another room which was overlooking the carpark ( not what they paid for ) the hotel have offered a free night but as we are from the UK this isn’t an option. We were disappointed to find the boardwalk closed for repairs, with no prior notice given. Additionally, the beach walk was inaccessible due to private ownership, limiting outdoor options.Dining was another challenge. Both the Manteo and Eldorado bars/restaurants were too busy to accommodate us, and we ended up at a nearby café on arrival to grab a drink only canned sodas or coffee were available. There are no restaurants in close proximity to the resort other than at the hotel , and the nearest options required a mile-long walk. While this wasn’t an issue for us, it could be difficult for older or less mobile guests.Overall, while the resort had some redeeming qualities, the lack of communication, limited amenities, and underwhelming room features made for a disappointing end to our trip. We booked our trip through our local independent travel agent who is a Specialist in Canadian trips so will be feeding this information back to her .

  A totally disappointing experience! We booked a superior lake view room - what we got was a dated room overlooking a dirty stream and trees that blocked the view of the lake. The bathroom was so small the sink was outside the bathroom.The room we were in was next to the main ventilation system for the hotel so was extremely noisy and the vibrations from this rattled the main door all night. The noise and vibrations also affected the rooms on either side of us and vibrations could be felt in main corridor. We spoke to reception who moved us the next day, but to a room that overlooked the carpark - not what we booked or paid for.The boardwalk was also closed, no pre-warning before we arrived or even upon arrival. After travelling around Canada for over three weeks this was by far the worst hotel we stayed in.

  Disappointing and Not Worth the Price - great location but has gone downhill

  The Manteo has a great location in Kelowna, and the on-site restaurant was decent, but unfortunately our overall experience was very disappointing. • Housekeeping: Despite numerous requests, our room was not refreshed and sheets were only changed after5 nights when we finally complained. • E-Bike Storage: We left our very expensive e-bikes with their claim check, and on two occasions we waited up to an hour while staff tried to “find” them. This left us uneasy about security. • Bathroom Condition: The shower had visible mold. • Comfort: The pillows were terrible—flat and uncomfortable.For the price point and reputation, the service and upkeep fell far below expectations. Sadly, we cannot recommend this property.
