    She be Condemned

    rating20 Aug 2025

Run away fast from this DUMP. Everything was filthy and kids got dirty from the gross rug. Room had a bad smell and the room was in such disrepair. This place should be condemned. It is terrible that Trip Advisor even listed this on their site. It is housing monthly rentals to interesting people that have a smoking party in the parking lot every night.

    SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY

    rating13 May 2025

The most disgusting hotel we have ever stayed at. This location is a complete disaster, is filthy dirty and should be shut down immediately. The fact that Choice Hotels allows these standards is concerning. This hotel is beyond dated, has numerous health and safety concerns, and is just unsafe. We stayed at this location to see a concert at Casino Rama because everything was sold out. Do yourself a favour and stay in Barrie! Absolutely horrible!

    Not recommended

    rating12 Jun 2024

Firstly the place looks nothing like the picture on the web. Very much in need of repair. We had a room on 2nd floor - place is very run down - carpet is very dirty and ravelling in many places. The room - we had two double beds - both had springs coming up through mattress. Ended up taking all the bedclothes and putting them in one bed to try to keep the springs from digging into our backs. Ceiling was stained, lamps were dusty , chair in the corner was stained. Air conditioner worked Bathroom was clean but there were “hairs” on the wall in the tub. Breakfast was included - bagels toast yogurt coffee tea - this was fresh. Would I recommend this place? NO !!!! Worth it to spend the extra few dollars and stay somewhere else.

Easy Stay with Pets Basic Room at a low price

    rating09 May 2024

The Econolodge readily accepted the two pets that we were travelling with no exorbitant pet fees. The room that we stayed in was clean but, much in need of a refresh. The bedding in the room was clean Both beds had a basic mattress A heavier weight of blanket would have been appreciated but, the heat was easily adjusted to compensate Paint is peeling in the room and bathroom, The bathroom towel rack was coming away from the wall. The staff was friendly and the hotel was within walking distance of several restaurant

The Most Irritating Hotel Modern Society Has To Offer Review of Econo Lodge

    rating29 Mar 2024

I left a pair of Banana Republic jeans in my room, and when I returned to get them, the staff got flustered. They said they didn’t know at first, then said they didn't see anything like that, pretending to look around the front desk area. Okay, but I didn’t get the impression. It was not exactly a graceful response, by any measure, but I think we can all agree that it's a masterful display of class—I wonder who took it? Stay tuned!Anyway, the staff called our room and woke my wife up. Why? Prepare yourselves, but I’m not surprised, even though I should have been: The woman at the front desk was not a master of disguise, but simply a concerned citizen, having noticed that our toilet paper was sitting outside my room. And (again, I'm serious) she told me someone might steal it, or trip over it. It was put there by Captain Clean, not me, and most likely (as they are friends and talk while customers politely stand in line for their turn) to give the worst hotel I've ever stayed real money—and I’m not exactly young. I travel a lot for work. They don’t even deserve their own pocket fluff. This is what happened, even though it was 100% obvious it was actually her: the woman at the front desk, playing games at the expense of our sleep and peace and privacy. It's either that, or they tell other guests your room's phone number if your toilet paper desperately needs changing due to theft, or if Mr. Magoo was in the building, tripping over it and wants to blame the guest instead of Captain Clean—the weirdo cleaner who put it there and generally think he is Caesar of Earth, without irony. I can't possibly believe I'm the only one who noticed Captain Clean with their weird impositions, and overwhelming sense of unwarranted self-importance.In all likelihood, who took my expensive jeans? Well, I’ll leave it up to you, dear reader. This was the worst experience at a hotel I've ever had. I stayed a week, but I would not stay there again, even if it was FREE.
