    We have stayed at the hotel for the last few years when we go to the Roots North Music Festival. The rooms are on the small side but very clean and the beds are very comfortable. Lots of shops and restaurants in walking distance. Also the water front. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast isn't fancy .it hits the spot . Good value for the money .

    The Champlain Waterfront Hotel is a short walk from the lakeside in Orillia. Most rooms have no lake view. Our room was underground with a ceiling height window on to the car park. Surprisingly there was no car noise overnight and we slept fine. Car park is small with tight parking spaces. There is street parking nearby and another car park a few blocks away with passes obtained from reception.The room was next to the self-service laundry which was beneficial for us on our long road trip. Inexpensive efficient laundry machines.Reception was efficient and courteous. Breakfast was "continental", which here meant cold and minimal.The room was small but clean and comfortable. Decor is dark and dated.It is a short walk to the lake and lakeside park. There are shops and restaurants within an easy short walk.Reasonable accommodation for the price and good location.

    Basic hotel, avoid lower level rooms

    My wife and I stayed here for a weekend in March, 2025. Expect a very basic hotel, with fairly bare amenities. Staff were friendly and helpful, but watch out which room(s) you get. Rooms on the ground floor (we were in 130) were very loud; some guests were shouting outside on the street, then in the lobby, and in the hallway, throughout the night. Guests getting ice and coughing in the hallway, as well as loud music from the bar next door made for 2 rather sleepless nights. The breakfast is functional but very minimal, as is the gym. Rooms are pretty tiny as well. Ultimately you get what you pay for, the price was right for us... but the conditions made our room very noisy.

    Wonderful hotel rich in history and beautifully renovated. Rooms are comfortable and very quiet. Staff are friendly and very helpful! Beds are comfortable and it is in a walkable location. We had a great view of the lake!
