    My family and I went to the Quebec Inn hotel in the past but couldn't stay for the 2 nights minimum stay so we chose this hotel instead. The hotel appeared to be very similar on line and as it is the same chain we thought it would be but..... its not at all. This hotel is not the cleanest place, the saunas doesn't work, the arcade is gone, the pool was COLD, the "hot" tub was warmish and too crowded, the atrium was no where near warm enough, there was no singer at the pool as advertised, etc. It is like a cheap Quebec Inn wanna be but overall disappointing. Do yourself a favor and go to the Quebec Inn and avoid this hotel.

    ⭐☆☆☆☆ Extremely Disappointing Experience – Poor Service and Unprofessional StaffWe stayed at Hôtel Plaza Québec on November 10, 2025, with three adults and one 8-year-old, celebrating my son’s 34th birthday and checking the venue for a potential Christmas party. From the start, our experience was frustrating.We arrived at the restaurant to hear a live group playing in the “Jardin” section. We asked to sit nearby but were told it wasn’t possible and were seated near the door instead. Our drinks arrived quickly, but our meals were extremely delayed. Despite repeated requests and offering to bring the meals ourselves outside to enjoy the group, the meals for adults took almost an hour and a half to arrive. My daughter, thankfully, received her meal first.The situation escalated unnecessarily. The Maître D accused me of trying to leave without paying and called over a SECURITY OFFICER, all in front of my family and other guests. I had given our room number (113) 3-4 times and tried to cooperate fully, yet the staff’s behaviour was stressful, humiliating, and completely unprofessional. Other guests came to us to validate that the Hotel Staff was out of line.After the event, I reached out twice by email and once by phone, and received no response whatsoever. Other hotel guests even told us that the staff had acted inappropriately.What should have been a joyful birthday celebration and venue visit turned into a long, stressful ordeal. The poor service, long delays, and unprofessional conduct make it impossible for me to recommend Hôtel Plaza Québec.

    The hotel was nice but lacks attention to detail such as cleaning and maintenance. It was also difficult to communicate with staff because they did not speak much English. We reserved a room with two double beds. I managed to find the second bed which was hidden in the wall and I had to set up the bed and make it up myself because this was not done by the staff, borrowing pillows from the other bed in the room because none were provided. The hotel had a stunning swimming pool area which had a Mediterranean theme, a small gym, cinema (which was not working) and children’s games room. It is located about 30 minutes drive from the main city of Quebec and near a few shops and restaurants.

    Beds not ready even after checked in.

    Room was not ready after we checked in (~2/3pm) and went inside. After reporting this to the front desk it was not ready until after 9:15pm. Tired and wanting to get some sleep, changed and rested.The Murphy bed was still fixed to wall even though we booked for family group.Note : When both the family beds are down the chairs for the table have to be stored in the attached kids/baby room. Where does one walk around?Also, trip hazards when kids spare beds is pulled out and dining chairs are stored around the room.AC. Shower (no family bath).Inside Pool good for younger family but some slippy tiles. Hot tub. Pool towels provided. Key card needed for pool area, good for younger kids.Parking free. Uber into city centre ~GBP£10-12 each way. Bar available upstairs and seats to view pool area.Desk staff uninterested in fixing problem or feedback discussions/help. Suspect they are short staffed HPQ! Are they trying to get other guests checked in?Review hotel options in more detail before booking. Quebec City is so pretty, so beautiful. There must be other hotels to use plus this one is not cheap.

    Online looks a lot nicer than what it is in person. If you’re looking for a modern hotel and want to visit the old Quebec area, this hotel isn’t worth the 18 min drive to there. You’re better off staying in the hotels closer to the area that are a bit outdated. This one here I won’t be returning to. Parking was difficult to locate with the overflow.
