  From the minute you walk into the place, you'll instantly note and feel that every possible expense has been spared on this place, and you're first impression will not alter: you've booked yourself into a grubby and dirty establishment that will leave you eager to leave at the earliest of opportunities on the one hand, while feeling sorry for the inmates you're leaving behind. I am not going to upload the pictures I took of our grotty room, as you can see these in other people's posts. All I can add: they are 100% accurate!So, what problems are there:- grotty and thread-worn carpet throughout the place as you enter.- although the two staff I dealt with were nice, the place is devoid of any sense of warmth, hospitality, and basic care. It's as if they, the managers and owners have given up.- reception area and communal parts remind me of hotels I have had to stay in for work in former military/Soviet era developing countries - curtains in our room didn't actually close properly- the bathroom had mold all around it- the room just didn't feel clean and unless you ask for them to clean your room, it won't be done- the bedding was pitiful; I shudder to think how dreadful the experience would be if you stayed here in winter- it felt cold throughout our stay- lighting made it dark, because you have to close those ill-fitting curtains to ensure you are not spied upon/laughed at by those in the buildings around it. - rubbish TV and wires all over the placeThe worst hotel I have stayed in for some considerable time anywhere in the world, and we only booked it because we were rushed for time and couldn't find anything for our dates. Avoid this place if you can, it's rubbish!

  Great location and great price. However the room was very tired. There were paper towels in the window as insulation and the shower wasn’t very clean. The bed was fine (and clean) I’m far from a hotel snob and will sleep anywhere but this was about as cheap as I would go.

  The location of this hotel is absolutely fantastic. It is within walking distance of all the major attractions in Quebec City. The building is an older building with so much character and, I feel, so much wasted potential. While our beds were clean and comfortable the rest of the room was quite dirty and run down. If you walked barefoot on the floor your feet became immediately dirty. There was a previous guests fake eyelashes and coffee stains on the window sill. I’ve been a housekeeper in a historic building so I do understand the work and maintenance required to keep them clean and fresh, and was disappointed that this building isn’t being kept at its best.

  Comfortable rooms with high ceilings, big bathrooms and convenient location to all the sites! Old world feel with modern comforts. Walk out to the street for many restaurants to choose from. Easy to get to Old Town and the attractions.
