Location

This eco hotel is located within the Beaver Creek Business Park in Richmond Hill. It lies adjacent to Markham's Commerce Valley Business Park and is just a 5-minute drive from the centre of town. The local transportation network offers easy access around the city and to downtown, where guests will find a number of restaurants, bars and nightlife spots. Shops can be found within 5 minutes' walk at Times Square and nearby sights include Scuba 2000 (3-minute walk), and David Dunlap Observatory, Canada's Wonderland, Markham Theatre and the historic town of Unionville, all of which are a 10-minute drive away. Lake Ontario can be reached within 40 min by public transport.

Facility

The hotel welcomes guests in a 10-storey building with a lift and 117 non-smoking rooms. The reception desk is open round the clock. Services such as a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine ensure a comfortable stay. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops as well. Additional facilities include a newspaper stand. Guests can enjoy a selection of sport and entertainment options. Excellent swimming awaits guests at the indoor pool. Fine weather can be enjoyed on the terrace. The hot tub in the pool area promises pure relaxation. After an eventful day, guests can work out and recharge in the gym.

    Serious Safety Concerns, Undisclosed Construction, and Extremely Poor Resolution

    Our family stayed here as part of a team trip expecting the quality and standards associated with the IHG brand, but this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we have had.The property was undergoing substantial undisclosed construction during our stay, which was not properly communicated prior to arrival. There was visible dust throughout guest areas, poor air quality concerns, unacceptable room filtration conditions, construction equipment left in common spaces, inadequate barriers around active work zones, and multiple legitimate safety concerns for families with children.The breakfast and common dining areas, which were especially important as we were traveling as a team, were heavily impacted by construction, dust, and visible equipment. Shared guest spaces were uncomfortable, disruptive, and far below reasonable hospitality expectations.Rooms and amenities did not reflect what was advertised, and the hotel environment felt poorly maintained given the level of active renovation.While the physical conditions alone were unacceptable, the post-stay customer service was equally frustrating. After raising serious health, safety, and environmental concerns, we spent weeks in an exhausting process involving over 28 emails with hotel management and IHG corporate. Compensation offered due to the severity of these failures was mishandled through internal administrative issues, and meaningful resolution was never properly delivered.This experience reflected failures in transparency, safety, customer service, and accountability.Guests deserve full disclosure when booking a property undergoing major construction, particularly when those conditions materially impact safety, cleanliness, amenities, and overall comfort.I sincerely hope future guests are given far greater transparency and safer accommodations than we experienced.     Comfortable rooms, good breakfast, beware of renovations

    The room was comfortable with a great bed and good amenities, however the hotel is under extensive renovation with several floors being ripped apart. There was construction noise throughout the day and no ice machines available anywhere in the hotel. The breakfast was quite good with many hot options. I feel there are probably better hotels at this price point in the area.     Time for renovation!!

    This is my 3rd stay in the hotel. Previous stay was prior to Covid. I feel easiest way to sum up this hotel is that from what I overheard management talking loudly at the reception, the hotel is around 20 years old. It simply needs a refurb in order to stay in competition.The check in process was easy and friendly staff at reception. The rooms are looking dated and lighting needs to be brought to modern times.Pillows were really old and clearly never replaced for a number of years. Aircon was the same from when the hotel was built and needs to be mordernised.Most of all was despite requesting rooms to be serviced early in the morning before 9AM, the rooms were not serviced until 5PM or later and there seems to be a lack of urgency in this area.Breakfast options have not changed and ticks the boxes but small changes would be great to make it less boring for stays more than 2 nights.Pool users really need to dry themselves before using the lift as wet floors in the lift was a constant eye sore.Great location but I really hope the management are looking into commencing refurbishment to keep the standards high.     Loud, dirty and disgusting.

    This was my 3rd time staying at this hotel and the last. The prostitution going on was clearly visible, the kitchen employees were loud,extremely unprofessional and some were just digusting. Some of the guest were also either ghetto, trailer trash or just inconsiderate. Again I've been here 2x before and it wasn't this bad. Besides some of the guest and their kids behaving like they had no shame or proper training ,the hotel wasn't to bad. On this trip it seems like everything went out the window. With guest and their kids behaving like they have never been outside,the kitchen staff talking extremely loud , slamming plates, doors and walking past people eating with garbage or be just not being very hygienic was enough to turn someone off but when I saw the blatant prostitution going on and nothing was said or done I knew not to come back. There were 2 nasty looking girls basically sharing a room and John's pulling up left and right. One would either sit out front or hang out in the lobby while the other was in the room with the John. They would cycle back and forth thruout the days. It was digusting to even think I was sleeping in a bed/room that was being used for prostitution at one point or another. The hotel clearly knew what was going on but did nothing. I was very disappointed as I actually had 2 other coworkers stay here based on my recommendations.     Dirty Pillow Case inside ,Bed sheets was not changed

    I recently stayed at this hotel and found some significant cleanliness issues. When I removed the pillow covers, I noticed the pillows were old and had visible stains, which appeared to be from previous use. It was disappointing to see that housekeeping was using towels to clean the washroom surfaces instead of proper cleaning supplies. The front desk staff was friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast was decent. While the room initially seemed clean, closer inspection revealed otherwise—the sheets did not appear to have been changed since the last guest, as there was an unpleasant smell.
