    Unacceptable Breakfast Experience

    Disappointing experience at the coffee shop in a hotel, which I feel compelled to share. It’s the first time I've encountered a situation where hotel staff, including housekeeping, freely entered the breakfast area to fill their plates and clear out the breakfast room while guests were still waiting.During my visit, I waited over 20 minutes for hot food to be replenished on the counter, but nothing wss made available. It was strikingly clear that the hotel has very lax standards regarding staff protocols during guest breakfast hours. While guests are left waiting it seems that staff are prioritized over those who are actually paying to stay there.Frustrated by the lack of service, I ultimately decided to leave without eating anything. This experience stands out as the worst I had in any Best Western hotel. If you’re considering a place for breakfast, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere in the city. There are much better options that will value your time and offer a proper dining experience.

    Fantastic stay!We were there for a minor hockey tournament. The staff did a great job given the number of kids running around. They were accommodating and respectful when they needed the boys to settle down for the comfort of the other guests.The beds were comfortable and the rooms large enough for our family of 4.The price was reasonable and it was a great breakfast with plenty of room for guests to sit and enjoy their meal.

    My wife and I chose this hotel due to its central location for exploring Vancouver Island north to Campbell River and west to Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. However, we would not stay again. In the middle of our first night there, someone obviously using a keycard attempted to enter our room but was stopped by the metal security arm on the door frame. The desk clerk on duty denied checking someone else into the room and giving them a keycard, but the only other possibility would have been an employee with a master keycard; a very disturbing experience.The included breakfast had limited hot-food options. The breakfast room is small, and we found it very crowded and with limited seating at the typical 8 am time of breakfast.The shower-tub in the bathroom had no gripping strips in the tub and was very slippery, requiring one hand on the grab bar at all times.

    Hotel is very clean, and moderately efficient staff, check in time was lengthy not sure why, appeared newish staff member was struggling. the room was fine. The breakfast included in the price of the hotel was a MASSIVE disappointment. Not a typical decent breakfast, scrambled eggs only with self prepared toast or waffles. Piles of convenience food option like yogurt and granola bars or muffins.
