Nice and newer hotel in Squamish

    rating07 May 2026

Sandman Hotel & Suites Squamish is a newer hotel in Squamish. It is located near commercial buildings in Squamish, not far from Walmart. The hotel is pet friendly. Front desk check-in was a breeze and the staff were helpful with suggestions for places to visit, including two nearby restaurants (Backcountry and Geocider) which offer 15% discount for Sandman guests. Our room came with 2 King beds (with very comfortable cotton bedsheets and down comforters), a small fridge and large bathroom. Complementary hot and cold breakfast included a range of food – pastries, breads, jams & butter, several cereals, waffles, instant oats, yogurt, fruits (bananas, apples), and hardboiled eggs.

The value of the stay wasn’t delivered

    rating10 Apr 2026

I recently stayed at the Sandman Hotel in Squamish from April 9–11, 2026, and overall the experience was disappointing.Due to a delayed flight, I called ahead to inform the hotel that I would only be arriving the morning of April 10. While I understand standard policies, I was still charged for the full first night without any flexibility (such as an early check-in adjustment), which many hotels would consider in similar situations. The room itself was also underwhelming. There were only two towels provided, no soap available for the shower upon arrival, and very limited in-room amenities overall. Small details, but they contribute to the overall experience and comfort.More significantly, during the night of April 10–11, a fire alarm went off around 1:30 AM and all guests had to evacuate the building for approximately 30 minutes. It was later confirmed to be a false alarm. This disrupted the night entirely, and we were unable to get proper rest afterward.Considering the nightly rate was around $230, the $40 compensation offered felt insufficient for the level of inconvenience. Between the lack of flexibility, the room setup, and the disrupted night, the overall value of the stay simply wasn’t there.I would have expected a more customer-focused response given the circumstances. Mark Enright, General Manager at Sandman Hotel & Suites Squamish, responded to this review Dear Ms. Laflamme,Thank you for reaching out regarding your recent stay with us. As discussed at checkout, and also via email, I would like to once again sincerely apologize for the disruption caused by the false fire alarm. We understand how unsettling this experience can be, and we regret the inconvenience it caused during your stay. The safety of our guests is always our top priority, and our team acted quickly to ensure everyone was safe. While we understand your frustration with the delay to your travel plans, flight delays and airline operations are outside of the hotel’s control. Any compensation related to airfare or flight disruptions would need to be addressed directly with your airline. In response to the alarm, our team took several steps to support affected guests, including offering complimentary late checkout, extended breakfast hours, and flexibility with stay extensions where requested. We made every effort to minimize the impact of the situation for all guests. As a gesture of goodwill, we also provided a discounted room rate and offered you the opportunity to return at a friends-and-family rate for a future stay, which you chose not to accept. At this time, we are unable to offer a complimentary night, as a hotel-wide emergency event does not warrant free accommodations for all guests. We believe the compensation already provided was fair and reasonable under the circumstances. If you would like to clarify what resolution you are seeking beyond what has already been offered, please let me know and I will be happy to review it.Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for a better experience in the future.

    Good place to stay

    rating03 Nov 2025

Very nice hotel. Great staff, very friendly and willing to help.Breakfast was very basic, no hot food but the room was very clean and appealing. Mark Enright, General Manager at Sandman Hotel & Suites Squamish, responded to this review Thank you very much, Karen, for taking time to share your review. We are delighted that you enjoyed our nice hotel and we appreciate your kind words regarding our friendly, helpful staff. We appreciate your feedback regarding our breakfast offerings. We are pleased that you found our breakfast display clean and appealing. Being that we do not have a restaurant here at our property, we are not able to provide hot food items but rather a quick, nutritious start to your day but if you have any suggestions of items that you would like to see added, we always appreciate suggestions as well. We look forward to welcoming you again in the near future.

    Wonderful weekend stay!

    rating22 Oct 2025

I stayed at this hotel with a few 60+ women. We had such a great experience at this hotel! The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, which made the whole stay feel easy and enjoyable. The waterslide was a blast — fun for both kids and adults (seniors)! We enjoyed the hot tub too. The pool was a bit busy at times. The free breakfast was a very nice touch, with adequate options.Overall, this is a fantastic place to stay whether you’re traveling as a family or just looking for a fun, comfortable getaway. Highly recommend!

    Needs to serveca hot breakfast

    rating14 Oct 2025

Nice hotel and room with friendly staff. The hotel is located near to restaurants etc. The only thing that lets it down is the breakfast. Cereal is good, but the rest was just bread and cakes. Perhaps they should do a good hot breakfast. My opinion only as I don't like continental reakfast
