    No coming back from a bed bug

    Rooms appeared clean, checked beds and other places when we first got there and didn’t say anything suspicious. When we started packing up is when I found this on our laundry bag. No management on duty today to deal with the situation. They charge you for the room nights and you just hope they’re honest and refund you when it is looked into by a manager. Tried contacting the manager but no response. Jacques Arnal, Owner at Hampton Inn by Hilton Winnipeg Airport/Polo Park, responded to this review Tayja, I received your email and contacted you the same day. The room was inspected by our professional bug control company and found 1 new bed bug only. We immediately sealed off the room and are having it treated . We have not had a issue with this situation for over a year. Unfortunately it is out of our control and a issue hotels have to deal with. As good will we compensated you for a full nights stay.

    Excellent front desk service.Super friendly shuttle driver!Room was very clean!Super quiet.Tons of parking available!     It is a nice hotel, located very close to airport. We were disappointed with the bed being very soft, mattresses need to be updated. Also they ran out of breakfast over and over again during our 4-day stay. They ran out of all hot items 20 minutes before closing and only replaced 1 of the 4 items before closing the breakfast. We have never seen this at Hampton inns before, somebody from corporate needs to review this location. On a positive note, the people at the counter and shuttle drivers were fabulous!!!!

    The Winnipeg Hampton by Hilton is always my favourite place to stay. The free 24/7 airport shuttle is great, and after three nights at a hotel in Niagara Falls that did NOT have hot water, the fantastic shower here was sheer bliss - add a comfortable bed and what more could you ask for?

    I’ve been a loyal Hilton guest for a long time and have previously stayed at hotels across three provinces for work. I have always appreciated both the service and comfort they offer. However, this last experience left me speechless. I chose this hotel for its proximity to the airport. The room initially seemed cozy, but when I got into bed, I noticed part of one pillow uncovered with a yellow stain, so I checked all the pillows. It was disgusting—possibly saliva stains from hundreds of people, and who knows what else.I checked other areas of the room: curtains stained, possibly with blood or food, clearly never cleaned. The microwave was shocking—I’m still unsure if it wasn’t cleaned or was burnt. I requested a room change, but the next room’s shower had no door and the sink appeared clogged. I stayed nonetheless.The next day I requested room cleaning. I don’t know when they arrived, but they didn’t even change my sheets—they just “made” the bed with the same dirty sheets, which I could tell by the same tears; the sheets were also ripped. They only hung fresh towels and took out the trash.I considered complaining about the poor service, but something else happened. One day, I stopped to ask a maid for coffee, and I overheard her clearly crying, frustrated and upset, talking about their manager who treats and humiliates them like slaves, and no one seems to notice or care.This, combined with the poor state of the rooms, leads me to conclude there is a hostile work environment created by management, along with a lack of maintenance and attention to detail that a hotel of this caliber should never allow. Poor management always negatively affects the guest experience. After this, I sincerely hope General Management takes notice and makes better decisions, or I may have to escalate this directly to Hilton stakeholders.
