    Average hotel

Booked this hotel as it is close to the Canada Life Centre. Although the elevator was awful, stopping on random floors & jolted alot... The staff did allow us to have an early check in & were very nice (security located near the front desk was also super nice). The location is good, the historic sites is desirable. The price is worth it, although the deposit is quite high for a very end of it's time hotel. They will tell you they have a system to wake you up, but what they won't tell you is it is by phone & doesn't often work. We almost missed our flight. Overall a very average hotel, and I would probably book agian (when in Winnipeg) for the location.

Don't go . Creepy staff. Felt unsafe . I'm an Elder horrible service in general. Don't recommend to anyone. Alot of undesirable practices here. I would discourage anyone to stay here. Our First Nations need to do better to ensure the safety of all our members. DO Not send them here.

The Marlborough Hotel is a place I'd advise against. It has a sketchy ambiance, questionable clientele, and safety issues that left me uncomfortable throughout my stay. The rooms were subpar, and the overall atmosphere was unsettling. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for a pleasant or secure experience.

Worst hotel visit of either of our lives. We checked in with a homeless person asking for money outside the front door. The hotel has been subsumed by a deteriorating neighborhood of crime, drugs and homelessness. Can't blame the owner for this but then we got inside. Graveyard clerk has a dishevelled homeless haircut and mumbles under his breath instead of speaking clearly. Elevators are ratty and dingy. Checked into our room to find out the hotel has no functioning air conditioning. Staff is shy about sharing how long it has been out. Desk clerk mumbled something about it being worked on giving the misleading impression it might be fixed anytime soon. On our last night there, another clerk shared it hasn't worked since she started working at the hotel, however long that might be. Spent three nights sleeping in a furnace, in spite of the electric fan provided for our room. Suffocatingly uncomfortable. Also there is no cold water to control the temperature of the shower. Partner scalded herself. When we inquired, staff informed us casually that one has to run the bath tub water for 5-7 minutes for comfortable termperature! Even using that strategy, we didn't get much relief. Hallway walls and carpeting are reasonably clean but grim, like a prison. Checking in, one of the two elevators was down, and our room had exactly one full size towel, had to wait for more to be deiivered to our door twice as they can't be bothered having them at the front desk, clerk tried to satisfy my need by handing me one miniature hand towel. Electronic door keys were not working reliably and they were still hit and miss when supposedly fixed. On our first full day, a seedy dude in a hoodie covering his face knocked on our door with a bag in his hand, quickly apologized hed the wrong room and left. Told security downstairs and they thankfully shared they had already told him to leave. Some of the regular clientele here are clearly marginal types, so the hotel by necessity has ever present security on site. Twice the tenant in the next room could be heard jostling the go between door connecting to our room, can only hope their motives were innocent. This is a historic hotel in Winnipeg, 110 years old and has been written about locally for its place in the city's growth, founding by European immigrant owners. Whoever the owner is today, he/she has given up, doesn't give a damn but continues to take people's money. Feel sorry for the staff as they aren't to blame but have to take the brunt of inevitable customers complaints. Before I forget, I twice saw roaches climbing out of the ice machine. Avoid this hell hole like the plague. My partner was reluctant to be left alone whenever I had to get ice or go to the front desk. How much longer can a hotel last like this, unless as a go to place for junkies?

Do not stay here. The sheets were not washed and were stained. There was a puke stain on the carpet in our room, used condom in the hallway, the AC was non existent and dirty handprints on the ceiling. I do not know how this place is legally allowed to rent rooms. I
