    Good Food, Not So Great Staff

    On Wednesday, March 11, 2026 I went to the Viscount Gort Dining Room on the 2nd Floor for the lunch Buffet.Their food was very good, tasty and plentiful. With the exception of one of the creamers being sour, I have no issue with their food.However, their staff, in particular a specific man really needs to learn to leave the patrons alone.After have a salad, I thought I'd go and have a second plate - I was in a salad mood that day. On my way there, this man took my plate from my hand and herded me toward the area where the hot food was. Stupidly, I let him. Firstly, I did not appreciate being "herded" and secondly, I was under the impression that buffet meant "all you can eat". Apparently, it doesn't at Viscount Gort.

    I can’t say enough about how great our experience has been with the Viscount Gort in Winnipeg- specifically with the front desk manager- Jodi and the Banquet manager- Frank. FromInquiry to booking to follow through they have both been phenomenal. As someone who runs a huge event biannually, the Viscount Gort has been second to none in their friendly approach to business. They are very knowledgeable, approachable and willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything runs smoothly. This is by far the best hotel in Winnipeg that I have worked with.

    Great hotel in winnipeg. Jodi at the front desk is amazing and always accommodating. The rooms are clean and updated. The bar and restaurant has great food and great service. Jodi really makes us feel at home. Its the only place we stay when in Winnipeg.

    I have been using this hotel for many years! It has been my favourite hotel in Winnipeg. The hotel is located close to the airport and directly across from Polo Park shopping center. And Olive Garden and Red Lobster are next door. Rooms are always clean and staff are helpful and friendly. Jodi the night manager is always there for us! And if you are lucky enough to be there on a Sunday morning, they have an excellent brunch buffet! I know I never have to worry about my stay here.

    Absolutely love staying here. The location offers easy access to shopping, restaurants and the airport. The staff are friendly and accommodating. They always greet us with a cheery hello and inquire of our well being. This is a reasonably priced place offering all the amenities one can want. The rooms are clean and the beds quite comfortable. This is my "go to place" for accommodations in Winnipeg.
