Location

    Hotel lovely- food……not to standard on this occasion

    The room is really good, first hotel out of 4 that I have stayed in Chile that has USB ports!!However, the restaurant is not to my standard. I ordered fillet steak and potato gratin. The fillet should be a thick piece of steak, instead this was a roll of meat on a sort of skewer. No taste and did not melt in the mouth. I did advise the waiter and he agreed that a fillet should not be a roll of meat and he would advise the kitchen staff. Needless to say it’s not the start I would expect to receive.

    Lovely room with a fabulous view. It would have been nice to have had a shower cubicle rather than a bath with a cheap, tacky, plastic shower curtain.Pool was nice but small, shame the jacuzzi jets didn’t work.Breakfast very average, only lactose free milk available (horrible).Would probably stay again for the view.

    Within less than 12 hours at this property a credit card was stolen from my wallet.I went to reception twice to report the issue.First response... that is unusual.Second response... sorry.No further response from the hotel.Stolen... not lost... $7,000 USD of charges before American Express recognized the transactions as fraudulent.On another note... a dated property that could use an update.

    The Wyndham Pettra is more than just an incredible view. From the warmest of welcome check-in, to the well appointed rooms with the most comfortable bed and pillows, great shower pressure and a substantial amount of hospitality water in the room refrigerator, to a well stocked breakfast where you can also order eggs any style if the prepared selection doesn’t meet your need, to a wonderful spa with talented massage therapists. The front lobby lounge that looks across to the volcano is super comfortable and very relaxing, and the town is an easy 15 minute walk to an ample selection of restaurants and shops. This hotel gets it right and it’s all done with attention to customer service and making their guests feel at home. Would definitely return if lucky enough to be back in Puerto Varas.
