    This hotel smashed our expectations.We travel..a lot.We asked ChatGBT to find us a quirky boutique hotel in Santiago in the bohemian quarter. Boom! As soon as we walked through the iconic gates through the courtyard and into reception we knew… pay dirt.Great greetings from the receptionist, up the stone staircase, past the delightful lounge area and to our room. There we were instantly transported to a tastefully appointed Hemingway style room with 21st Century comforts ( a difficult act to pull off tastefully). We found that, at no charge, the hotel provided a bottle or two of wine in the lounge for pre-dinner drinks for the guests!They from all over the Americas ( we were the only Brits.) and congregated for a delightful hour of conversation and laughter. Afterwards into the streets filled with authentic restaurants. If you want high end dining, this area is not for you but if you want to feel the buzz of an incredibly creative city… if you want to be a traveller and not a tourist, this place is a steal, and for less less than the price of some boring international chain hotel.     Beautiful and safe Hotel in Santiago. Breakfast was very good, especially the egg skillet. I would definitely stay here again.     Very nice room. Clean. Great location. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good with good service. Only issue preventing a five star rating is the "all day" lounge for coffee, tea and water. Often out of cups and glasses and not replaced. Coffee and water for tea was lukewarm at best.
