This hotel is located in a special part of the Paseo Gervasoni, one of the most distinctive viewpoints of the hills of Valparaiso, in the heart of the area declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, Concepción and Alegre. The hills dominate the beautiful surroundings of this exclusive hotel.

Facility

The hotel was built in 1870. The hotel has a lift and features 15 rooms. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. A baggage storage service and a safe are available. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park (for a fee). Other services include a 24-hour security service, medical assistance, a transfer service, room service, a laundry service, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. Complimentary newspapers are available. A fax machine is available for guests' business needs. The conference room is available for conferences, lectures and meetings.

Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning and central heating. In most units, guests can enjoy a view of the sea from a balcony or terrace. Rooms have a double bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. There is a fully-equipped kitchenette with a refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, tea/coffee station and oven. There is also a washing machine, an ironing set and a trouser press. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio, a stereo system and WiFi are provided as well. Guests are always kept up-to-date thanks to the daily paper provided. A hairdryer and a telephone are provided in the bathrooms, which include a shower and a bathtub. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. Wheelchair-friendly rooms can be booked. The hotel has family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

    Great Valpariso stay

    Centrally located in the tourist zone, easy walking distance to a multitude of sites, one of 20 + funiculars,restaurants and shops. Fabulous breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. The owner provided transport to the Santiago airport at the conclusion of our stay. Funky older establishment with lots of stairs and no elevators.

    This hotel is in a very good location. It has charm and character. The staff could be a bit better. The male at the front desk was the most helpful. We got there before 3 which is check in time and our room was not ready so we rested for a while in the hotel, then went out till 3. There are a lot of stairs at this hotel and no elevator. We had a nice room, however it was quite noisy and it wasn’t the hotel that was noisy, it was the surrounding area. Also. i thought the bathroom was a bit dangerous. We had a shower tub combination but with the piece of glass they way it was, was kind of hard to get in and out of it. I also don’t care to reach behind me for toilet paper. The bathroom seemed awkward to me. I would not recommend this hotel for a person that has trouble walking or climbing stairs. I didn’t find anything special about this hotel but the location is good.

    Avoid. The worst value for money I have experienced anywhere. It desperately needs a clean as well as a proper lick of paint, it’s very, very noisy, the breakfasts are dreadful with hot black water rather than coffee, the bathrooms were infeasibly tiny and manky, the TV picture was terrible, we were there for 4 nights and the rooms were cleaned once. We had to ask for replacement toilet paper. And it’s expensive, if it were a budget $35 a night job I could forgive, but the place is massively overpriced. Some of the staff were OK but the general attitude was. “Who gives a toss? We’ve got your money.”

    Located on the Paseo Gervasoni at the top of Ascensor Concepcion. Gran Hotel Gervasoni is in the heart all the Valparaiso’s attractions and sights. It is an older manor home so no elevator and the stairs creek but that is a part of its charm. Reception staff was very friendly and helpful for an English -speaking traveler. Tourist map of Valparaiso was available at the reception. There was an in room safe and liquid body wash, shampoo, and conditioner were available. The breakfast room was bright and airy with a harbor view. My room overlooked the paseo and was quiet after about 10 pm. The Fisher steps and Paseo Galvez are within 1-2 min walk. I’ll defiantly stay here on any future trips to Valparaiso.If arriving at Terminal Rodoviario bus terminal any number of city buses (200 CLP) will take you to Blanco and Gomez Carreño (about 5 min) where you can walk 2 blocks to Ascensor Concepcion (300 CLP) and easily ride up to Paseo Gervasoni and a 1 min walk to the hotel. Cars can go to the end of Papudo (1 block form Templeman and Papudo)

    We loved staying in this historic hotel. Our room had a water view that lit up at night. The high ceilings, abundant art, wood floors and elegant antique décor were unique and beautiful. It is located in the heart of the old city. They also provided a delicious breakfast with a choice of indoor or outdoor terrace seating with views.
