  Beware, they ignore all emails and contact from external booking companies. Mario Grbic, General Manager at Hostel Sol, responded to this review I am sure you got reply by now. We had technical issues.

  We arrived at Dubrovnik at midnight from overseas due to a flight delay by Croation airline to find ourselves locked out of the hotel. The reception desk had had not made any attempt to notice us about their new work hours (7am-7pm), nor did they try to give us an instruction for self check-in eventhough we had fully paid in advance for our stay. They simply closed and locked us out, did not care. We had to frantically find an alternative accommodation at mid-night in a new country upon realising the situation we were in. Additionally, when we mention this with the receptionist the following day, he coldly told us that they did not work after 7pm and refuse to give a refund. Very irresponsible! Also, that website should have provided info about the reception working hours (7-21) and is responsible for refunds as you paid to them, not to us. I do understand your frustration with the situation that occurred and hope you had a pleasant stay in our property for the rest of your booking, although you didn't mention it in your review.Kind regards,

  Although this hotel was located right next to the harbor, which had nice views, there are a lot of things that I didn't like about it. The room had a moldy smell, and we couldn't figure out where it was coming from except perhaps from the air conditioner. I will say the air conditioner worked very well. The shower did not drain well and was not ventilated. The main staff person I interacted with was not friendly at all. A plus was that I could at least do laundry, although there was only one machine for the whole building. Really small rooms, though typical of a lot of European hotels. Very basic.   Modern, friendly hostel, convenient for bus station and ferry terminal

  We arrived in Dubrovnik by ferry and left by the bus station - this hostel is a short walk from both so was very convenient. It's quite a distance from Dubrovnik old town, so is less convenient for that. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and sufficient. However it was quite dirty - the floor in particular was quite dirty and dusty and not cleaned. The price is high compared to comparable hostels in other countries, but was low compared to everything else in Dubrovnik.We didn't try the food in the hostel, but there were plenty of restaurants nearby, as well as a large supermarket and brewery taproom.   Great stay at Hostel Sol

  We stayed in a private room that was comfortable and clean. The hostel entrance needs updating and gives a poor first impression of an otherwise nice property. The location is 5 minutes from the bus station (easy to get from and to the airport). You can take a 10 minute bus ride to Old Town. There are restaurants and supermarkets in the vicinity.
