Not what i would hope for. If you are in havana for just a couple of days would suggest staying in town.

    rating29 Dec 2025

First thing to remember is 5 star in cuba is 3.5-4 elsewhere.Aesthetically good looking on arrival. Large lobby area, concierge at the door. Luggage was taken by Bellaboy to check in on 20th floor (upgraded ?) Where we received a welcome drink and given spell about restaurants etc. Room shown to was on 19th floor looking towards city and over the water. Due to height very windy and windows weren't sealed properly so not only wind coming in but sound was over powering and high pitched. We asked for change of room which was given. New room quieter. Standard of finish is poor, spare pillow in cupboard had mould on it. Constant power cuts to be expected in havana, last 5-20 minutes. Water and coffee not topped up each day as promised. Breakfast would be recommended to be taken on 1st floor rather than 20th as much more choice. My wife is gluten free and every meal time was a struggle. Bar staff appalling. Asked for a cocktail (martini). Initial answer was no until I showed bar staff that it was on drink menu. Drink was reluctantly made after staff referred to a book on how to make it. Another cocktail was ordered and told didn't have ingredients. Staff spent most of time on their phones. General cleanliness and standard of rooms poor with little attention to detail.Pool area excellent, staff there friendlier Frederik Andersen Stahl, Director General at Melia Habana, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We would like to respectfully clarify that the details described in your review do not correspond to Meliá Habana, as our hotel does not have 20 floors. Based on the characteristics mentioned, it is possible that your experience refers to another property, such as Meliá Cohiba. We would be delighted to welcome you in the future and hope to have the opportunity to offer you a stay that fully meets your expectations. Best regards.
