    The hotel did not disappoint.The location and facilities are amazing - two pools and direct access to the ocean - being able to swim early in the morning by walking a minute from your room is great. We had a GoPro and were so happy to snorkel and positively surprised how clean the water was and the visibility was amazing. Got to see a lot more near the hotel than we did on some of the beaches when it comes to fish :) It is also a close walking distance to the city center district.Breakfast at the restaurant was also tasty.Room was clean, spacious. Staff were kind and helpful. Cons: gets quite noisy from the street (cars) and can be difficult to find a parking spot (parking is free and it seems this is quite a spot for many people to park for free to get to the city center - where there is only a paid parking)

    The loveliest in-town experience

    Staying the first 3 nights of our week-long Curacao visit at Scuba Lodge was the perfect introduction to this island. As fans of preservation, we were impressed by the historic restorations of the 5 beautiful houses that make up this rainbow-colored hotel. Everything in town is merely an interesting urban-Caribbean walk away. We loved having breakfast on the waterfront (we are not big morning eaters so we ordered one generously sized plate to share just because we enjoyed sitting out there. Share the pumpkin pancakes!). We had dinner at the hotel's restaurant one night and it was a very romantic scene dining under the stars (order the coconut soup). The only thing that could make our stay better next time is to book an ocean view room! One tip: We had rented a car for the week but we didn't really need it (to go to the West beaches and explore generally) until the third day. So we could have saved ourselves two days of rental fees. The hotel staff kindly helped us find free street parking as there seems to be no parking on the property.

    Our stay was beyond expectation. Cosy hotel, very nice staff, great location. No better place to stay in Willemstad we think. Restaurant and food, absolutely great. The lay-out of the hotel is very special. You get to your room through nice walks in the garden, or through very special corridors. GREAT!

    False advertisement, wanted to love it but would never go back

    Loved the historic look/feel. The oceanview terrace suite was nice, but other rooms are just not worth the price. Cleanliness was passable - floors were only cleaned once in our almost 2 week stay and you clean the dishes yourself. Warning there are a lot of stairs if you do not want a room in the busy bottom floor with restaurant traffic. I am particularly upset about the false advertisement on their website, please see attached "Special" still listed on their website 3 months after I brought it to their attention. There is NO free massage or transfer, they are both run by independent businesses (waited 1.5 hrs at airport for more guests too), that do not know anything about the promotion. Staff gave me the run around, finally saying they didn't know about the promotion and to wait for the manager who never materialized. Waited a lot at reception for staff that was sitting chatting on the back.The pools are way too cold and unclean, my husband was the only one to enough to try it once during our stay, everyone else avoided it. The little cove of sea is very popular as it is the only place to swim in a long stretch so it is used mostly by guests at other hotels which fill the recliners. The hotel has only a few recliners itself (and with no shade or umbrellas), mostly being the restaurant's (also not affiliated to the hotel (and with lackluster food). You need to consume to be able to use them and they fill very fast. Overall, I cannot recommend. You are paying for the exterior of the hotel and the location, wanted to love it but would never go back.
