Six days at the Green Coast Beach Hotel

    rating17 Jan 2025

Very basic from an American perspective. No toiletries or potable water in the room. The included breakfast was excellent however and the beach across the street beautiful. There is no private beach in Punta Cana, the fancy hotels just have guards keeping non-guests from stepping onto their land behind the beach. The staff were friendly and helpful but most knew only a few words of English.

Lovely Botique hotel right on the beach, cleans rooms, 5 star selection of breakfast and juices, powerful showers, water to hot for the caribbean, air-con system new and working very well….pizzas just like the real Italian, friendly multi cultural staff, just talking with them makes u feel a part of their close family bond, known Angela for years, Olgas just a star, sweetheart, Alberto the manager has set up a great team over the years. I could not name them all.The views from room 31 makes u want to stay in all day.

    Clean, Freindly and Complete Bargain

    rating12 Jan 2022

Our first night in the Dominican Republic we stayed at Green Beach Coast Hotel as was close to Punta Cana airport. Not as close as we initially thought, but got a taxi there for less than £15. Hotel at the end of a dead end lane in the town. Really nice welcome. Shown though to our room which was a simple suite. Basic but clean. Resonantly comfy bed. Shower nice and hot and free flowing. Beach was accessible via a little alleyway opposite the reception. Having our breakfast (included in the price) on the beach was lovely. WiFi was fine and accessible everywhere even down on the beach.Only drawbacks were that our room had no views and there was a dripping air conditioner unit outside our window onto an old plastic bag which was quite loud (till I reached out and moved the bag a bit). A particularly nice bar (Onno’s) a short walk (100m or so) was very lively with good selection of cocktails. We thought this hotel was a real bargain. Well worth staying. Wish we had booked a couple of nights. But never mind. Next time.

    Green Coast Beach Hotel

    rating01 Aug 2020

We stayed at the Green Coast Beach Hotel from June 22-30. We had a great experience. The workers and owner were very helpful and friendly. Given that it was during COVID, the workers did a great job of always wearing masks and bringing food to the room, free of charge, to better protect the residents. I really loved how close the hotel was to the beach (a 10-second walk). I also really liked how private the beach was for the hotel residents. The food at the hotel was much better than expected (be sure to ask for the entire menu). We were given an upgrade upon arriving and happened to be at the hotel during Hurricane Isaias. The staff moved our room to better suit us during the storm. The owner’s name is Alberto and he was fantastic and helpful. The staff (including Ana & Jonny), and the cook, were also great and friendly. You cannot beat the location and the hotel for the price. It is about 30 minutes from the airport, and a taxi ride is $35. The rooms are cleaned daily (which is nice because of the sand) and the breakfast is also good. The one bad thing is to STAY AWAY from the beach vendors. They will badger you and you have to make it very clear (from the beginning) you are not interested because they will all speak to each other and before you know it, one vendor turns into 25 who all know you have money to spend.Overall, great experience.

    Ask for what you paid

    rating22 Feb 2020

When we arrived at the hotel we asked for Melisa; The front desk workers told us she wasn't there... WE DIDN'T LIKE: -When arriving 1h20' before check in time; the proposed us to pay 20$ for immediate check in or to wait...(we waited) -Our room was at the back yard of the main block where parked the cars. we were situated between the "lavanderia" and a utility room with big trash cans. -We didn't have any wifi signal arriving to our room. we had to ask and tell several time that we paid for wifi in the room. Finaly, they gave us a mobile wifi (unfortunetely it was our last afternoon). - Hot water run very fast (1 minutes per heating). dangerous electricity connection for the thermos. -Very polite but no smile to serve the breakfast WE LIKED: - Good breakfast a la carte - Comfy bed - good aircon - Clean PS: don't be afraid to ask for what you paid for...(ex: wifi, lunch,etc...)
