Location

This hotel is located in the tourist centre of Bavaró, just a few minutes' walk from the beach. Many shops, boutiques, cafés, bars and restaurants are to be found in the vicinity. It is 25 minutes (20 km) from Punta Cana Airport.

Facility

This resort was renovated in 2021. 548 rooms are available to guests in a 4-storey main building and 10 auxiliary buildings. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a currency exchange service and a cash machine. Wireless internet access (no extra charge) is provided in public areas. The complex offers a number of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. A number of shops, including a souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. The grounds of the hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional facilities include a playroom. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park. Further services and facilities include a 24-hour security service, a car hire service, medical assistance, a laundry service, a hairdresser, a page service and a hotel doctor.

Rooms

Air conditioning and a fan ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Most units include a balcony with sea views, where guests can relax and linger a while. The rooms have a king-size bed and a sofa bed. A safe and a desk are also available. Additional features include a refrigerator and a tea/coffee station. Equipped with internet access, a direct dial telephone and a television with satellite/cable channels, the rooms provide many ways for guests to stay connected and entertained. A hairdryer and a vanity mirror are on hand in the bathrooms for everyday use. 1 wheelchair-friendly room can be booked. Family rooms are available for parents with children.

Sport

The pool complex, which includes 3 outdoor pools and 2 children's pools is a great place to work out or just relax and unwind. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent. A hot tub can soothe sore muscles (for a fee). The complex offers an extensive outdoor sports programme, including tennis, beach volleyball, volleyball and paddle tennis. Guests can take part in a comprehensive water sports programme, which includes canoeing, catamaraning, kayaking, water aerobics and aquafit, with banana boat rides and snorkelling available for a fee. Sports enthusiasts are also offered a wide range of indoor activities, including a gym, table tennis, badminton, yoga, callisthenics and aerobics. There is a wellness area with a steam bath and a beauty salon and, for an additional fee, a spa, a sauna, massage treatments, hydrotherapy treatments and aromatherapy. Leisure facilities include an entertainment programme, a kids' club and live music.

Meals

The dining area includes a bar. Guests can dine in a cosy atmosphere at the restaurant (non-smoking and à la carte). Refreshing drinks at the beach bar are a perfect way to enjoy warm weather. All-inclusive can be booked. For breakfast (warm), lunch, and dinner, guests serve themselves at the buffet or choose their favourite dishes from the à la carte options (for dinner). Gluten-free meals, vegetarian dishes, children's meals and whole, unprocessed foods can be prepared on request. The hotel also offers snacks. The show cooking is a particularly special attraction. International brands are available for an additional fee. There are non-alcoholic beverages and alcoholic beverages as well.

    Great resort with a few minor improvements!

    We had a great stay at this resort. The positive parts of the resort are that it is well laid out and clean. The beach is large and we had no issues getting a chair. The food was all good and we had plenty of choices at the buffet, the food tuck at the beach was very good. There is a bar at every pool and at the beach the lines were never too long of a wait. The shows at night were all great and well done. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We did find some negatives the resort could improve upon, the pillows in the room are very flat and lumpy and if you put two on top of each other its almost too much pillow. At all 3 pools there were not enough chairs. At the buffet the tables were cleared quickly but not reset making it harder to find a table. Twice during our stay we lost hot water for about 10 minutes each time. Overall we really enjoyed Vista Sol, we would recommend it and we will be returning.     As soon we arrived the vibe was relaxing. Easy check in we upgraded to sea view WOW GREAT ROOM. The beach was amazing no problem finding chairs . The bars were always flowing and plentiful . The restaurant staff was always had a warm smile . The Mexican restaurant was really good and so was the Italian. The main buffet was always fresh food . The fruit was so good papaya and mango wow. There was a peacock family and and large duck family roaming around the grounds. It was baby season they were so sweet . The room was clean and comfortable always cleaned when we came back from the beach. This is a great resort . I would recommend it to stay.     THEFT'S, Bed bugs, flea riddled mattresses/ rooms

    Filthy old mattresses riddled with bed bugs & fleas. Myself, my partner and children were bite repeatedly. The rooms are that infested weve brought back the fleas and bed bugs, and now having to look at paying out few hundred quid to fumigate my house. Whilst we were at the resort we tried reaching out to front desk about this a couple times. First time went to front desk was to say the room needed fumigating as it was infested. But they did nothing and even tried arguing that it was mosquitos and sand fleas ( we hadnt been to the sea front yet).So we left it for one night, only for all of us to be bite even more. Next day non of us have had much sleep because of the itching and uncomfortable feeling of creepy crawlies, i pulled the mattress sheets back. HORRORFIED. Local hotel rooms are cleaner after a child free night. I took pictures for proff. We saved for a long time and paid alof of money to have this holiday and to be married here, ( something else they mugged us off over and ruined our day).I took the pictures i took of the room we were staying in to show front desk, they dealt with it by swapping mattresses from another room. THEY DID NOT CLEAN the room. More details follow.......When we arrived at the resort we seen how dirty the room was, but we kinda just brushed it off as the previous occupants were filthy dirty, and that staff had not got round to cleaning the rooms yet. We didnt realise the condition of the mattresses untill we started being bite and were fobbed off when we raised concerns. We were there a week, they never actually "cleaned" that room once. They simply just changed sheets and emptied bins. The staff behind front desk do not care at all unless faced with audience. We spoke spanish to try help improve the communication between ourselves and the staff at front desk, as the male staff behind the desk were showing arogance of superiority towards us, like we/me were nothing. The man dealing with our complaint did however start to care about sending me away rather quickly from the front desk, when new guests were coming in. Annoyed I was being treated and spoken to like i was at the bottom of his shoe, frustrated i was "trying" to show the man at front desk all the evidence of the level of neglect in the rooms on my phone, but he wouldnt look! So I started speaking English very loudly, without shouting, explaining how my little family saved and paid lots of money to be made to sleep in beds riddled with bed bugs and fleas.Front desk was more then happy to degrade me and diminimise the situation by throwing suggestive insults toward my partner about me before i started speaking spanish then English. They couldnt send us away quick enough saying they would sort it when english speaking customers were now queing up waiting to be booked in. THEY SWAPPED MATTRESSES FROM ANOTHER ROOM, THEY DID NOT CLEAN. Promised us we could get married at the resort, spent months messaging the organisers sorting through details, 2/3 days before we fly they send a message to say the wedding will not be legalised, the "symbolic ceremony" they sold us as a "wedding" they wanted $1600. So we asked how much to legalise it, they had conflicting mixed messages. One minute they were going to get a judge to help us, the next they wanted another $400 for us to go to the nearest town for registry with no guarantee it would be legal and an extra $200 to take us there.We paid for a lovely photographer on site to take some pictures of us instead. THEFT: do not leave your belongings in any way shape or form unattended.My 4 year olds gold glitter crocs were stolen when they were right next to me whilst i was enjoying the sun on the loungers. My partner was in the pool with our kids while i sat with our belongings. I turned over to lay on my front feeding the baby ducks! And my 4 year olds shoes were stolen. Someone came up to where i was and stole them like a child needing her shoes in that kind of heat is irrelevant. Boiling hot weather, concrete floor, we had to carry our 4 year old to front desk and back to the room to report the theft. But nothing happened. They did till us to buy new shoes at their shop where a small pack.of nappies cost $40 with no refund or returns policy ( nappies wernt price tagged).We bought a cocomelon jj doll.from.said shop.that cost $18 to try make our 4 year old feel a bit better! Sat by front lobby sorting out our photos with the photographer, and someone sneakily stole my 4 years old jj doll while she was sat.drinking her drink. Asked everyone sat around us and suddenly no one speaks.english or understands us and no one saw nothing. Some staff are lovely! But honestly this place needs to be managed better.     Great if you can avoid needing customer service

    The redeeming qualities of this hotel are their beautiful grounds and resort walkability. The beach is well maintained, and gorgeous to look at. There is difficulty finding chairs, and they are reserved with towels early in the morning, despite the posted signs opposing this. You just have to learn to play the game. The biggest downside to this resort is it's customer service. We arrived to no air conditioning or hot water in our room. A part had "just" broken and was under repair. We were given lots of different information as to when this happened, what has been affected (initially being told resort-wide), when it would be fixed (always later today or tomorrow). Others were affected by this, and tended to in the same poor manner that we were. I don't expect that anyone has a crystal ball, and could have anticipated this issue and its repair. I do expect that a situation like this is to be rectified to the best of the hotel's ability. We were refused a room change for days, even when I was clear that no compensation was desired and I would downgrade room categories to wherever there was availability (hotel was not fully booked). We spent more that half of our vacation in this broken room and lots of time was spent circulating the front desk for updates, becoming frustrated with their lack of compromise and routinely returning to open doors/windows and cool off our room so it didn't become sweltering. Eventually I reached out to Sunwing and the issue was magically resolved - after 4 days of this turbulence. So, don't hesitate, reach out to your agent asap. There was an offer for compensation: "spa amenities for two". We signed a release waiver accepting this compensation - to find out it was 2- 20 minute massages at approx $100 USD value. The time lost on this vacation trying to obtain a reasonable outcome and the time spent in discomfort at these "luxury" hotel prices was worth more than that. We felt mislead and that the compensation was not of fair value to have interrupted half of our vacation. Beware the slight of hand. Other matters of operation: bartending speed and pleasantness is hit or miss, food is edible (I wasn't expecting gourmet); book reservations as much as possible and eat breakfast at the american restaurant on the beach. The shows can be fun, but are certainly "in-house" productions, for the most part. When you can get a chair, the beach lounging is remarkable. I wanted to attend this resort and be happy to return with my family in the future. Unfortunately, I'll be looking for somewhere else with better service and a beautiful beach. I didn't listen to other's reviews where these aspects were sub-par, and I wish I had.
