  Great place for the short stay. I dont understand who can complain?

  I have stayed in Maison Gautreaux more than 8 times since 2010 and the last time being 2021. I have not complain at all for this price. I normally go by myself, but last time I went with my two children born and raised in USA. My kids had zero complain about this place. The AC works actually extremely well. My daughters were actually complaining that the AC was too cold. We had not issue with mosquitos. The breakfast was great and the coffee is served any time during the day at your own request. You are 1 minute away from El Malecon, yes the ocean with all king of restaurants nearby. For $40 US dollar who can complain? ( they just charged us 40 dollars for use three a night. Also, the person that complain about not having change for 100 pesos, wwwaooo what a cheap person. 100 pesos = 1 dollar and 90 cents. They are cheap people in the planet. I always leave 200 tips for the front desk women. I think she is from Venezuela. And off course, I will be going again in about a month.

  The name of the place should be changed to “Maison Bordel”

  Horrible place even for the price, the name of the place should be changed to “Maison Bordel”, avoid at all cost!!1) They stole 100 pesos from us because they “had no change”2) Hordes of mosquitos in the room, now I have rashes on my skin and I am scared of getting dengue fever3) The second day our towels disappeared, they claimed because it was raining so they could not provide us with any. We ended up having to sleep without showering4) We paid for breakfast in advance but it was never ready in the morning. We had to wait for an hour in the lobby for it while mosquitos were eating us alive5) The breakfast itself was best left alone. It was mediocre, no taste. The orange juice had a taste, but the taste of an iron6) The staffs were rude and lazy, to check in we had to wait for an hour7) Water leaking from the AC ended up making our luggage wet. Also the AC is extremely noisy, I woke up several times at night because of it8) There is a concrete under the mattress, so be careful if you don’t wait to hurt yourself9) We cannot throw the toilet paper in the closet so we ended up having to throw it to the bin. So disgusting.10) All the equipments are old, even the door is ancient and you have to push it hard to make sure it’s closed11) The place also has a dirty vibe in general, and if you open the “drawer”, it’s full of spider webs and it smells bad12) They advertised in the booking website that you can pay by card, but this is simply not true 13) They also advertised that they had a safe. It’s true but we can’t even open it14) The so-called “jacuzzi” is best left alone, as it looks more like a mosquito nest

  I have not experienced more terrible service from maid service at a hotel in my entire life. We paid for breakfast but refused it, given the reception we received from the maid/kitchen staff. They were rude and uncooperative. The Front Desk staff were much better. This hotel has a lot going for it, given its location. But it has to start delivering what is being offered - our room did not match the one advertised and paid for. And something needs to be done about that service. It stinks.

  Small hotel, inexpensive and really near of malecon and other turistic places in Center of Santo Domingo. Nice breakfast and clean room. Ideal for a business trip when you need a place just for sleep.

  nice to getaway love staying here, everybody makes you feel like you are family and nothing is a hassle. Stu runs a small boutique hotel, great views, the rooms are a good size, and if you are like me and need to stay connected the wifi is excellent.
