  Totally not worth it !!

  We were unfortunately very disappointed with our stay at this guesthouse. The price was quite high, and we only discovered the next morning by accident that breakfast was not included — something that was not clearly indicated in the reservation information. In Egypt, it is very common for hotels and guesthouses to include breakfast, so this was an unpleasant surprise.The room was also not properly prepared for two guests, as there was only one towel provided. We had to request another one on the first night. Hot water was another major issue: it was not available on our first night (we were too tired to report it), it worked briefly the next morning, and then we had no hot water again for the rest of our stay, which was extremely uncomfortable.We also experienced a serious mosquito problem. Due to the location and the open balcony on the ground floor, mosquitoes constantly entered the room. They were very aggressive — I was bitten multiple times, and the bites remained red and itchy for nearly a week.Additionally, the absence of security was concerning. The large ground-floor balcony opens directly onto the street, meaning anyone could easily walk in. There was also no one consistently present at reception to handle requests or monitor the premises.Also discovered that Wi-Fi was charged extra first time I see this in my entire life !! Also was not clearly indicated in the information during the reservation.Although the owner tried to appear friendly, it did not feel genuine. When he became aware of our dissatisfaction regarding the hot water and breakfast, he avoided us at the time of departure instead of addressing the issues.Overall, the stay did not meet our expectations. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone especially that there are various much better options in Aswan for much more reasonable prices.

  The Hotel is renovated. We had 3 lovely rooms that were very comfortable. Ahmed was helpful in securing our arrangements for pick up at the Airport and arranging us an excellent driver to Luxor and Hurghada. Furthermore Ahmed arranged for our hot air balloon ride over Valley of the Kings in Luxor. Ahmed and his team were great, extremely honest and helpful and willing to match prices of other vendors

  We were pleased that we stayed at Villa Misk. The owner Ahmed speaks excellent English and has a professional approach to his guests. He was extremely helpful and saved us so much money by organising a driver to take us on an overnight trip to Abu Simbel ( which is the only way to properly see this highlight of Egypt).The room we stayed in overlooked the lake and was lovely of a morning and evening.( It would be horrendously hot in the warmer months even with air conditioning) It ticked the boxes of good hot shower, WiFi that worked and a TV with a couple of English speaking channels.The breakfasts were good and the meals we ate at dinner were excellent but have to be ordered well ahead of time.The negatives were that you need to get a taxi (which Ahmed will organise) to get anywhere and payment options.Unless you have US dollars or Euros you will be asked to pay at black market exchange rates if you want to pay by credit card or Egyptian pounds. Instead of LE 31 to the dollar, we were charged at LE 50. It's understandable from the hotel owner's point of view but we would have appreciated a warning before we arrived.

  Room is very comfortable. Just hard to buy drinks and get things you need unless you WhatsApp them. The owner Ahmed and son Joe are very polite and nice. Both of them speak American English. We enjoyed our stay. The place is a bit difficult to find but our guide found it. Keep in mind the government shut off the electricity daily for a short period of time. I think it is between 10pm to 5 am. So, don’t take shower during those times or you may be taking shower in a dark. 😆 Overall good experience. The view outside of the balcony is great!!

  Great budget hotel in Aswan

  We stayed at Villa Misk in Aswan for just one night, but were thrilled that we did. After a bit of confusion on our arrival (Expedia hadn't communicated our booking to the owner), we were put up in the nicest Nile view room. For a budget hotel, it was very well equipped, with tv, a balcony, some of the most comfortable beds and pillows that we had in Egypt, and a fridge. It was also spotlessly clean. But the best part was spending time chatting with the owner over breakfast the next morning. He was warm, welcoming, informative, and a delight to spend time with. Highly recommended.
