  Good experience at the Golden Hotel

  Golden Hotel is a great place in midtown Cairo. I booked for 4 nights initially. I liked this comfortable hotel and its very friendly staff, so I decided to stay for whole duration of my visit to Egypt - two months. Clean, convenient location, good rates, friendly helpful staff. I highly recommend this hotel.

  Very bad accommodation in a perfect location near Tahrir square

  Pros : Walking distance to Nile riverfront, Tahrir square, Lots of restaurant, Cairo metro Cons : Many many cons - Property is under renovation (was in Nov 2024) and they do not reveal this. When I say under renovation - every room is being re done. So there's a lot of junk etc around and things are not fully functional or ready for stay.We stayed in 2 rooms during our stay502 - AC makes very loud noise. We couldn't sleep most nights and ultimately turned it off for the rest of the stay.302 - transparent bathroom door. So if you are sharing the room with someone - they will have to step out everytime you take a shower !!Overall :Breakfast is meagre - 2 slices of bread. Some days they did not have butter too.Property is dark and with junk all over it is a nightmare trying to step out of your room.I won't recommend this friends and family. So decide.

  Great location and friendly staff make for a pleasant stay at this hotel

  My wife and I stayed at the Golden hotel on 4 separate occasions during our 3 week trip to Egypt and Rwanda. The hotel is in an excellent downtown location with an easy walk to the Egyptian museum as well to many restaurants and cafes. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff very friendly. Nabil went out of his way to made sure we had a pleasant stay at the hotel and a pleasant experience in Cairo. Thank you also to Salah who patiently answered all my booking enquires.

  If you are looking for somewhere cheap to just lay your head down for the night, this is the place. Clean, ideally located to the Museum and with restaurants and bars close by. Do not be put off by the surroundings. Locals quickly get used to you

  I have been traveling to Egypt every year since 2007 and for the past 9 years I have stayed at the Golden Hotel whenever I’m in Cairo. The rooms and bedding are comfortable and spotless. Hot water, air conditioning and Wi-Fi all work great. Breakfast includes fresh fruit, an omlette, toast, jam, yogurt and tea or coffee. Best of all the owner and staff are very welcoming and accommodating. The downtown location can’t be beat making it an easy walk to the Corniche, the Egyptian Museum, the American University in Cairo bookstore, Abdeen Palace and lots of restaurants and shops. A slightly longer walk of 20-30 minutes will get you to the Islamic Art Museum, Bab Zuweila, and the Street of the Tentmakers. It’s only a bit more than a 5 minute walk to the Sadat metro station at Tahrir Square to get you to most other destinations. Modest prices make the Golden Hotel a great value - don’t hesitate to book a room!
