    The Lotus Hotel is an excellent place to stay in downtown Cairo, depending on what you want.If you want to stay in same-same sterile modern international standard accommodation, you wouldn’t choose the Lotus Hotel.If, however, you seek old-world charm (without the fancy makeover that has arguably spoilt so many of the old-world hotels in Egypt), the Lotus is a really great choice.The rooms are simply furnished, very clean, & very adequate.The highlight of the hotel is the staff, who are wonderfully kind, helpful, welcoming, & 100% genuine in their care of their guests.The hotel is in a great downtown location, with plenty of local cafés, bars, restaurants, & shops in easy walking distance.I stayed at the Lotus on 3 occasions during my recent visit to Egypt. It will be my preferred choice on my next visit too.

    Very Unique Place to Stay in Cairo and Great Location! + Egypt Tour Guide - Mina & Samir Fayek

    It's hard to put into words how special my time was Lotus Hotel. As a single and first-time traveler to Cairo, it was the perfect place to stay for a week, and understand what daily life is like. I was able to walk to so many places once I felt confident with the rhythm of the streets (thanks to Samir Fayek). This place has so much character and warmth to share even if it's not a "luxurious" hotel. (Personally, I'm more interested in the depth and a story -- if you're looking for that, you will find it here. ) Ayman, Emad, Abeer, Ibrahim, and Adel (and others that I know I'm forgetting, sorry!) made me feel so welcome and couldn't have been more gracious. On my next trip to Egypt, no matter where I am, I will go out of my way to return to Lotus to say hello to everyone there. Mr. Wafik Doss (owner of the hotel) is a gem and a true professional in the world of hospitality, and I will continue to stay at his hotels in the future when I'm back in Cairo. Mr. Doss kindly introduced me to Mina and Samir Fayek (tour guide experts) that I highly recommend using if you're staying at Lotus or Windor. (They've been working together for ~40 years.) Wafik and the Fayek Tour Guides work from their hearts; I was lucky enough to experience it and will be forever grateful.

    The best crew in Cairo. Mr. Labib has been very very hospitable and accommodating. Thank you for your help and guidance. Please come here, its worth it. The guy helped me visit all the i.portant olaces in Egypt and actually guided me through my entire vacation!!!

    This was the second time I stayed at the Lotus with family. The hotel has been around some time, having survived the ups and downs of the tourism industry. It offers good value for money and the staff are all very friendly and helpful and speak English - some well. The beds are comfortable and the hotel gives a choice of western or Egyptian breakfast included in the very reasonable rates. I liked the manager very much and found him very helpful during the difficult 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. I almost had to stay on after the Cairo airport closed and would have felt safe there for weeks if that had happened. The hotel is well located too - close to Tahrir Square, the Egyptian Museum and many restaurants and other amenities.

    I stayed 3 nights at this place. The location is right where you want to be downtown. It's a ten minute walk to the museum and plenty of eating options close by. The hotel is an old time kind of place but I liked it. It had character. The people who worked there also were friendly and and good banter. There is a bar upstairs where you can get a beer and chill out after the sightseeing during the day. If any criticism maybe the breakfasts could be better. However for the price and the quality of the rooms ,mine with a balcony I found the place to my liking. If I ever go back it will be there. Or possibly the Windsor hotel the one I should of been in which is the sister hotel closed for now.Keep up the good work guys. We will return one day !!
