    ... dirtier and dirtier.

    rating12 Feb 2017

I stayed in this hotel more and more times in last the 7-8 years. Unfortunately it is more dirtier in every year than before... 5-6 years ago this hotel was just simple... the corridor and some bathrooms were dirty a bit. But the food was good. 2-3 years ago the all bathrooms became dirty, and the restaurant also a bit. Last time I think this hotel is horrible... everythings were dirty.. the rooms, the bathrooms catastrophic (uhh!), corridors, the restaurant... for example: the plates in the restaurant!!!!! It was disgusting! This hotel has only 2* not more in real.

Faded glory, the view is the best thing about it ...

This hotel is as it says not too far from the Pyramids. Thats where the fun ends really - we were the only non egyptians in the hotel it seemed, quite deserted.Located on King Faisal street which is sort of a long dusty rubbish dump, literally garbage everywhere and people with bad teeth in flip flops and dirty clothes rooting through it, scenes I've only seen in documentaries about India. Nobody knows where the hotel is either...(there are many hotels with "Pyramids" in the name!)The beds were clean and changed every day - shower was a little more than a trickle ! carpet was very dubious and I am very glad we were on the 9th floor as the windows are old and single glazed - you can hear the constant beeping of traffic night and day, glad I brought ear plugs !TV didnt work and the air conditioning was so-so, a few sweaty nights we had..Breakfast was sort of basic and there was no coffee a few days and lots of mess around spilt drinks crumbs etc, too few staff except on the last day when someone with a different suit and a tie was visiting, loads of staff milling around that day !Overall it just seems to be neglected - the ghost of a fancy hotel .I am not that fussy and found it funny even but someone expecting 3 stars could be quite upset.Check in was easy and the staff were helpful when asked but generally the place just seems downtrodden..tired and grubbby... perhaps when tourism picks up..or they demolish the place and start again ! Good for happy go lucky backpackers and people not expecting too much - Nice View !Tip : Dont trust the cab drivers outside ! find your own a block or two away !!

    Nice view of the Pyramids

    rating25 Jan 2016

I spent 7 nights at this hotel, every room had a view of the Pyramids & parts of Cairo. The hotel is on a very busy street which was different than the map on the website. It is very clear that the so-called "Arab Springs" of January 2011 have done damage to the area but this 10 floors hotel has 3 large halls for weddings & banquets, the terrace has a great view of the pyramids. When the "Pyramids Light & Sound Show" was on, I could see the change of the lights (but of course no sound). The hotel is under a New Management and it was going through some changes. I ate once in the hotel restaurant but I had coffee in the terrace twice because I was on the go all the time. There are also near by good selection of restaurants. The new manager & staff were nice with me. I hope that the local government officials take care of this area soon.

    Be careful booking via booked.net

    rating03 Dec 2015

If you book via booked.net, be careful, because the location on the map on their web page is incorrect! I booked via booked.net a room for 22€ a night, which was the cheapest I found, but prepare yourself for some troubles. After I finally and with some luck found the hotel (which was about 10 km (6 miles) away from the location where it was claimed to be) I had to wait for over an hour, because they hadn't received the confirmation from booked.net. Even though I had the confirmation from booked.net printed on paper, but still, I had to wait. The hotel itself had a nice view over the pyramids, but everything else was a huge disappointment. The same hotel (Delta Pyramids ☆☆☆) with a different name (Delta Trio Pyramids ☆☆☆☆) on the same booked.net costs 42€ a night. Delta Trio Pyramids has the correct location on the map, if I only knew that at the time I visited there it would have saved me from lots of troubles.
