  The staff were nice. That is the only positive thing that I can say about the hotel. Other than that … pathetic! Concrete monster with no green, no flowers, no atmosphere. Reconstruction going on with stone cutting, drilling … loud and dusty. Only one bar open with thumping music from the morning. Nowhere to meet with friends for a game or a chat. Crowded beach, the sun beds are very low. I do not think that the young or the old will enjoy it.   DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL !!!!  The complex covered in dust, why ? read on:-Renovation work started at 7am power tools, drilling, grinding, after complaining we were offered an upgrade room which we accepted because it faced away over the next door hotel and was some distance for the renovations only to find there was a new floor being built two floors above us so again drilling, banging, grinding early till late also the room was exactly the same as the previous room so not really an upgrade, In reality we had moved from a renovation site to a building site.The whole complex was like a building site with dust everywhere, a bomb site, apart from all this work being done the whole complex required major work everywhere, it is dangerous and unsafe for all children and adults with building materials everywhere, upturned slabs round the pool leaving gaping holes, path tiling, walkways crumbling and falling apart, where is the care and duty to the holidaymaker. Travel BuddyThe first travel buddy wasn't really interested in my complaint and ended up lying to me, the second was somewhat more sympathetic and advised me how to complain once I got home. Because we paid for private transfer we never saw any tour operator rep or was invited to a meet and greet information meeting. RestaurantDisgusting food mostly cold also the same food day in day out every meal time, food in trays and bowls were rarely labelled so you had no idea what some of it was, the fresh orange was so weak it was basically mild flavoured water, one chef making pancakes threw them onto my plate missing at one point. My wife asked a waiter for a spoon for her yogurt he suggested she used my cereal spoon that I had already used instead of giving her a clean one !! A lacarte restaurantsThe manager booked us in the 4 restaurants as a good will gesture, after the second meal (Italian) I had food poisoning, violently ill and vomiting as soon as I got back to my room. Pool areaPaving slabs around the pool not fitted leaving holes to fall into everywhere, piles of slabs stacked up, mounds of sand, a bridge over the pool to the bar left in a dangerous condition with no hand rail. Wi-fiThe wi-fi most days was off all day, some days it would drift in and out, one reception staff blamed iPhones specifically but it was the same on my wife’s Galaxy. You were continually having to re enter the passcode dozens of times daily and still rarely worked. Pool Bar DrinksDue to the building work the pool bar doubled as the main entertainment bar, the drinks were a joke if you asked for a beer it was nearly always served in paper cups you had to ask for three cups to make one drink because all they poured was froth. Cocktails an even bigger joke, they were also served in paper cups with mixture thrown into the cup nothing was professionally mixed. The spirits came in plastic bottles and were limited to only four, the branding was cheap and low quality they tasted disgusting, as for ice it was never volunterally offered you always had to ask for it, the bar staff just didn’t care. This now main entertainment bar on three occasions closed at 21.50 !!! (come on this is an all inclusive resort) with excuses like the beer has ran out even though they had cans of beer in the fridges the staff couldn’t wait to close they were rude and didn’t care and if intended to close at 22.00 they couldn’t even wait the 10 minutes. TransferPrivate transfer communication between them and myself was hopeless, even though their preferred method of communication was WhatsApp they rarely answered my messages and if I called them they hung up on me. In ConclusionWe were absolutely furious we were not informed when we booked of the intended building work or warned when the work was to start, the hotel managers said they informed all travel companies of the up and coming building works so if their telling the truth it was the duty of Thomas Cook to inform us, they had every chance with months of notice so we could switch hotels but to just not tell us is unprofessional, bad practice, deceitful and totally dishonest.One manager claimed if he got anymore complaints he would quit his job at the hotel stating it would be easy to find the same job at another hotel so not much care and customer sympathy there then. We paid £2500 for ten days for a so called 5 star hotel, this was absolutely 3 star at best and I’m being very generous at that, we have visited Egypt over twenty times in the last twenty five years and never come across an all inclusive hotel with only two bars and both closing so early. Today I received an email offering me £111.62, I find this very derisory and quite frankly an insult !! Our whole holiday was ruined, even with no renovations or building work this hotel is very tired and in a poor state of repair, it fell well short of the standard it claimed to be and what was expected for the fee paid. We’ve been to many amazing hotels in Egypt but this hotel was tacky and all done on the cheap with no care for holiday makers and no-one seemed to care, a poor holiday experience. This is a holiday I won’t forget for a long time and for all the wrong reasons, SHAME ON YOU THOMAS COOK I WILL NEVER BOOK WITH YOU AGAIN !!!!   It's been a while from my stay in Pyramisa Resort Sahl Hasheesh but this holiday still is a great memory and amazing stay for its value.The rooms are clearly recently renovated, which you can feel straight away. Everything is fresh, clean and comfortable, so it’s actually nice to spend time there, not just sleep. They were spacious, modern and bathroom was a great place to relax after long day at the beach.Big plus for the staff. Everyone we met was friendly, helpful and just easygoing, which made the whole experience much more relaxed. Great shoutout for Ahmed from beach bar who took great care of us and ensured we had all we needed.The beach is honestly one of the best parts of this hotel. It’s wide, clean and perfect for chilling. Also, the tides are barely noticeable, so you don’t get that annoying situation where the sea suddenly disappears. you truly can enjoy swimming there at any time of day but I would still recommend getting swimming shoes for your own comfort.The animation team is doing an amazing job. They bring good energy, organize activities, but at the same time they’re not pushy, which I personally really appreciated. Animation program various depending on the day and if you want to party you get the opportunity to join the Animation team at the night club in best clubs in HurghadaWhat's more I have to mention DJ Mans – he’s on another level. The vibe he creates in the evenings is just something else. To be honest, he alone could be a reason to come to this hotel. He caters for all the tourists and plays any kind of music there is. You can be sure you will have great evening whenever he is behind the consoleAll in all, really solid place for a holiday if you want a mix of relaxing and good atmosphere.
