    Hotel Cleopatra, Luxor West Nank (not to be confused with Hotel Cleopatra in the East!) is run by a lovely Egyptian family. Mahmoud was fantastic - nothing was too much trouble - and the home-made Egyptian food is delicious! There is no lift, so I opted for a first floor room (my son’s on the 3rd floor was larger and quieter); the restaurant is on the roof anyway, so you do have 4 flights of stairs when you are hungry (I had a hip replacement recently, but I managed ok)! It cannot be described as luxurious, and it is quite noisy (donkeys, birds, dogs and a cockerel!), but you are not paying 5* prices. It is in the middle of “real” Luxor, proper Egyptian life with the bustle and vibrancy and, therefore, noise that goes with that. We absolutely loved it! Thank you, Mahmoud and family! Shukran!

    Feeling like home in Luxor

    What I liked the most it was the kindness of Nasser, the owner of the place and also Mahmood that welcome us very warmly. Mahmood helped us with every excursion we did and cooked for us amazingly, making this experience truly traditional. We felt safe like family, even though we were 3 girls alone. We really found a place that for sure I would like to come back cause we found true friends there.In the end I really would like to thank Nasser for helping us with whatever we needed and also for the nice evening that we spenti together talking about Luxor and life, sharing ideas and laughters.

    Great location for exploring Luxor, and a friendly greeting.However, our room was absolutely filthy - pillows were brown and pillowcases and sheets ripped. Chairs in room and balcony unusable as rickety and dirty. Fridge in room was so dirty I wouldn't have kept animal food in it. Room dirty on arrival and never cleaned or serviced in 3 days we were there, I honestly can't understand how any genuine review could say this place is clean!! Stayed half board, no choice in menu and food always cold. When we didn't eat stone cold kashari we were interrogated and told it was supposed to be cold and everyone else said it was good - very uncomfortable. Restaurant was nicely decorated, but again furniture broken and dirty and tablecloths looked like they'd never been washed. Rarely offered drinks of any kind, and no facilities in room. Usually waiting an hour or more for dinner. Cannot understand how this "hotel" has received it's ratings.

    Perfect stay and view of Valley of the Kings is amazing

    Currently staying here and this place is great. Mahmoud makes you feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble. He arranged a hot air balloon trip for us and he did not disappoint. We will definitely come back here. The rooftop is amazing and so is the view of the Valley of the Kings.

    The hotel is situated on the West Bank of Luxor. Ok hotel for few nights. Host, Mahmoud is the best. He made our stay valuable. Lower standard at the hotel, but clean, WiFi good. Fantastic view from the beautiful roof terrace. View to Hatchepsut temple.
