Location

Located on the shores of a lagoon, in Nabq Bay, Sharm El Sheikh, the hotel is 10 minutes' drive from Sharm el Sheikh International Airport (some 12 km away).

Facility

Guests have a choice of 335 rooms, including 289 double rooms, located in two 3-storey buildings. The multilingual staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Services such as a baggage storage service, a currency exchange service and a cash machine ensure a comfortable stay. Wireless internet access in public areas (no extra charge) allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The resort offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A number of shops, including a supermarket and souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. The grounds of the resort feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional facilities include a playroom. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park for no extra charge. Other services include a 24-hour security service, a babysitting service (on request and for a fee), a childcare service, medical assistance, a transfer service, 24-hour room service (for a fee), an alarm call service, a laundry service, a hairdresser, a hotel doctor and a hotel shuttle bus. Rooms

Air conditioning ensures that rooms maintain just the right temperature. Guests can relax and enjoy partial sea views from the balcony or private terrace of some rooms. Rooms have a double bed or a king-size bed. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Additional features include a mini fridge and a tea/coffee station. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels and WiFi are provided as well. Cleaning on departure is among the services offered. Bathrooms are equipped with a bathtub. A hairdryer, a vanity mirror and a telephone are provided. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. Guests can also book wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms. Family rooms are available for parents with children.

Guests can treat themselves to refreshing drinks at the poolside snack bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub (for a fee). Sun loungers and parasols on the terrace invite guests to relax and unwind. The resort offers an extensive outdoor sports programme, including tennis, bocce, beach volleyball and archery. Sports enthusiasts are also offered a wide range of indoor activities, including a gym, table tennis, billiards, darts, yoga and aerobics. Various wellness options, such as a spa, a sauna, a steam bath, a hammam, a beauty salon and massage treatments, are offered for a fee. Additional leisure activities include an entertainment programme, a kids' club and live music.

Meals

Various dining options are available, including a breakfast room, a café and a bar. Guests can indulge their palates at 9 air-conditioned buffet and à-la-carte restaurants. Refreshing drinks at the beach bar are a perfect way to enjoy warm weather. Catering options include bed and breakfast, half board and all-inclusive. Among the advantages of an all-inclusive stay are various offers, including a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Diet meals, gluten-free meals, children's meals, halal food, lactose-free food and vegan food can be prepared on request. For little guests, baby food is available on request.

    There weren't enough sun loungers, and I felt sorry for the staff who were carrying people from one end of the beach to the other. There was only one restaurant and constant lines. The room cleaning was very poor, even with tips.

    Just back from an 11 night holiday with my partner at the Barcelo Tiran. Location wise, this place is amazing. Right on the beach at the end of the bay. Spacious enough so people aren’t right in each others way but it was ending April so could be the reason why. As an English couple, there did seem to be more Russian and Italians than any other nationality but again, early in the seasons that could’ve the reason why.Rooms - very spacious! I think the bed is a Super King. We had a ground floor garden view room which although a little tired (as others have mentioned) was kept in great shape by my friend Mohamed Raga - and thanks for his daily bottles of water and towel decorations! To note: the hotel was being decorated whilst we were there so may be a little more spruced for the summer.Next up the food - we ate mainly at the buffet and had breakfast, lunch and dinner there… always a huge selection and some great cooking stations. Some people clearly do not like queuing but that’s not a fault of the staff! Should be more than enough choice for even the fussiest eaters and I’d advise being adventurous with your selections… some absolutely delicious dishes. The best thing about the restaurant though was the staff. Attentive, always quick to replenish an empty glass. A big shout out to all the team working so hard in that restaurant in particular the legend that is Sammir! A happy worker if ever there was one and always pleased to see you. There are also other places to eat - an onsite à la carte restaurant, a pool area bar and a sports bar where the amazing Mohammed will make you the most delicious cocktails whilst also being friendly and chatty…be warned a thumbs up to him means I’ll have another which is not a bad thing on holiday! A really lovey guy… please make sure you visit him. We didn’t use the à la carte restaurant as honestly the buffet was more than good enough and there is also bar type food at the sports bar.Outside during the day, the poolside/beach bar attendants are amazing. First thing after breakfast finding you a sun bed, bringing you a bottle of water and even asking if it’s not too early for a cocktail! Our main man Mostafa looked after us so well as did all the guys working there… they work so hard in the heat. The entertainment staff got everyone involved in a few of the daily activities and also informed you of the evening entertainment. My only niggle for the whole holiday really is the very hard sell for extras. I appreciate these guys all have a living to make but the daily pressure for spa treatments, trips, beach barbecues, diving… you name it they had it… was just a bit tedious. We made sure we were polite and friendly but that was the one thing that detracted from a relaxing experience for us. Can’t comment about Sharm as a whole as we didn’t really venture off complex… the holiday for us was more about relaxing in the sun but if you’re more adventurous, there is plenty to get involved in.Overall, a really nice time away and credit to the staff at the Barcelona Tiran for contributing to that.     Lovely staff, amazing hospitality!

    We stayed here recently for 10 days and had a lovely time! When we arrived at the hotel after a day of travelling, there had been an issue with our booking through loveholidays as we they couldn’t find our booking. The guys on the reception were great in getting us a drink while they tried to figure out the error, and within 20 minutes they placed us in a Family Suite and provided us with food to the room. The food at the main restaurant seemed to be a bit hit and miss, there was always the guarantee of rice and chips, though the meat variety wasn’t great and was very repetitive - as expected in an all inclusive hotel. We found ourselves at the beach restaurant most days for their shawarmas and ice cream, the staff were lovely and soon learned our orders before we’d even ask. The bar staff were lovely at the beach bar, especially Mohammed, as soon as he’d see us he’d know our order and tell us to go sit back on our beach loungers for him to bring it along to us, he’d also check in during the day and bring us over fresh waters. The animation team were lovely, coming over to let us know about the activities during the day including Zumba, yoga, water polo, volleyball, and also the evening entertainment of couple competitions and dance shows. We went to a couple of the evening entertainment shows though these were on at 10pm so there wouldn’t be too much of an atmosphere for off peak season. We would spend most of our evenings at Champs Sports Bar, Mohammed the bar man was absolutely amazing, he’d constantly go above and beyond with plenty of snacks and refilling our drinks before we even had to order.With the lack of entertainment throughout the early evening, we decided to try one of the paid entertainment nights, Egyptian Culture Evening, which came out around £35 for both of us. The staff were lovely as ever as they from the beach bar and restaurant so recognised us and again went above and beyond with their service. We were given fresh pitta breads and plenty of dips before they brought out our own bbq full of meats and sides too. There was a belly dancer and a traditional Egyptian dancer which were both fab to watch whilst we enjoyed the food and drinks. Our only thought was that if these kind of evenings weren’t charged and were included as part of the all inclusive then there would’ve been a greater crowd and atmosphere.
