  Great city-centre stay with amazing staff, but some noise issues

  I stayed here with my girlfriend for two nights to celebrate our first anniversary. As a fellow receptionist at The Gibson Hotel in Dublin, I really appreciated how the team handled my pre-arrival requests. Sara and Gabriela were great via email and followed through perfectly. We were welcomed with a lovely, personalised letter and chocolates in the room, which made Amy's surprise even more special.The room itself was warm, spotless, and stocked with high-quality Rituals products. The receptionists were incredibly helpful throughout, filling our water bottles and giving us great advice on local events. We also loved the free flavoured water and blueberry juice in the lobby - a nice touch after being out in the cold. The location is perfect for exploring Rovaniemi, and the breakfast buffet is genuinely one of the best I’ve seen. The variety was massive, ranging from fresh bread and pastries to traditional pancakes and berries.However, a few negatives affected our stay. We heard a loud, constant "lawnmower" or pump-like noise during the night, which made it very difficult to sleep. The bathroom was also a bit on the small side. While we enjoyed the restaurant, the service was quite slow, and the prices were definitely on the high side. It was also a bit of a letdown that the sauna isn't mixed-gender, as it meant we couldn't use it together for our anniversary.On a final positive note, the food quality was excellent. Our server, Niko, was very friendly, and the burger and chips were delicious. Despite the noise issues, the staff and the food make this a reasonable choice for a central stay.   Arctic city hotel rovaniemi terrible hotel

  Lovely central hotel with great food

  We had a lovely one night stay here in Jan 2026. Its a really good base, perfectly located in the city centre, easy walking distance to anywhere including most activity pickups.The buffet breakfast was really good and had everything you could want.We had dinner in the Bull Bar & Grill downstairs which had a really nice atmosphere, and very convenient as its just downstairs in the hotel, so you dont have to go outside! We had a burger and ribs and both were really good.The lounge area by reception is really tastefully done, and we enjoyed sitting there a few times enjoying the comfy seating and free flavoured water / blueberry juice.Our room was a little small (not much space to put suitcases/unpack) but the beds were comfortable, and a nice bathroom.Would happily stay there again.   Hotel reception staff were extremely helpful and effective in organising a same-day reindeer tour for us. Also a late dinner after the tour was no trouble. Charging our electric car was easy too.
