Beautiful Lapland but for 4* Hotel very dissapointing

    rating22 Mar 2026

The natural scenery of the Levi region and Lapland is enchanting, but we recommend reducing the use of snowmobiles. We booked half board at the Levi Spa Hotel, which asserts its status as a four-star hotel. Based on our experiences with other four-star hotels, this location was a significant disappointment. The rooms were only partially cleaned, and on certain days, cleaning was entirely omitted, often occurring very late in the afternoon. The so-called spa encompasses simply the aquatic world, excluding the fitness and spa facilities. The most striking aspect is that the entry is located within a fast-food restaurant, rendering the passage with shower towels somewhat awkward. Additionally, the water and the entire water world area are quite chilly. The half-board option, as corroborated by recent and past reviews from other hotel guests, is absolutely not recommended. The hotel provides an upgrade to a private restaurant but does not allow a downgrade upon request. The breakfast offerings remain edible, although they do not meet the standards anticipated of a four-star hotel. However, dinner is a complete catastrophe. The hygiene is inadequate, the atmosphere resembles that of a school camp, the variety is lacking, and the food was cold and comprised of processed meat of presumably a lower quality, and there was a scarcity of vegetables. The tables were sticky, and there was hardly any staff to attend to this enormous dining area. All in all we would not recommend booking this hotel, but Lapland is highly recommended for its nature.

Junior suite was an excellent size for 4. A little dated, but no complaints. Excellent in-room amenities. Lots of storage space. Breakfast good. Pool complex fantastic - although water a little chilly! Great location, easy to park car (extra charge). Staff friendly and helpful. Would return and would recommend.

Perfectly located and well equipped - would 100% recommend

We cannot fault our stay at Levi Hotel Spa... we stayed 7 nights in a junior suite which was a huge room for a couple. Incredible sauna in the room... fridge plus drying cabinet amd bar/lounge area. Perfect. Comfy bed - good temperature controls. Food was good with plenty of choice. Well located for both the slopes at Zero Point and the bus stop to get to South Slopes with ease. So close to shops, bars and the lake to see the Northern Lights. Can't fault it and would definitely return. Thank you

Wonderful stay before Christmas at the Levi spa hotel. Smooth check in, stunning room (family suite) and an excellent location for exploring the town.

    Amazing time - 5 stars

    rating20 Jan 2026

We stayed at the Levi Spa hotel between 27th - 31st December 2025 as part of a package holiday booked through Inghams. Family of 4, 2 adults, a 15 year old and a 12 year old. Staff were friendly. The hotel is close to the main ski resort including bars and shops. fantastic location. There is a supermarket right next to where you get your snow suits which was quite reasonable given the place is a ski resort. The room was plenty big enough for the 4 of us, although the kids were in bunkbeds. The room had all the basics we needed, most importantly a large dryer to put all your damp / wet cloths at the end of the day. You have free access to the Waterworld swimming pool which is a short walk around the hotel. The pool was great, had a flume, a few indoor areas, and an outdoor area with hot tubs which we braved once and was great (although so cold to get from A to B). We stayed half board. The breakfast was fairly standard. Bacon, eggs, pancakes, bread, cereals, yoghurt, hash browns, beans, hot dog type sausages. The evening meal wasn't a great deal of choice but we didn't go hungry. Generally one main dish along with a lot of salad, potatoes etc. They do have a kids section which has chips and some kid friendly dish too. not going to set the world alight but was good enough for us for the 3 days. Had a fantastic time here, including the 2km husky safari, 1.5km reindeer safari, and the 28km snowmobile safari. A few tips.......Lots of opportunities to use the sledges around the hotel, on the frozen lake by Zero Point, and on the ski slope after 7pm. The gondola is free after 7pm and well worth a trip up to the top for the views. There is a reindeer enclosure behind the sister hotel (Hotel K5) over the other side of the road. Well worth a wonder over. We got right up close to the reindeer, and at no cost. Our kids were too young to ride the proper snowmobiles on the safari (you need a driving license and they are strict about this). However, there is a place down the road called VMax where they have snowmobile rides (you rent them for 45 mins and go around a 1km track) for kids as young as 5 up to 16. The larger ones cost around 90 euro and the smaller ones 55 euro for the 30-45 mins. cost us around 20 euro's in a taxi for a 8 min ride so be aware of this.
