    Disappointed with hotel Windsor biarritz

    Received a warm welcome on arrival. Took the extremely small lift up to our room,luckily we are both small. We were exceptionally disappointed when opened our room to our standard room . It was only marginally larger than the lift! Our room was next to stairwell and everything someone comes up and down the noise carried also you can hear people above and due to wooden floors people walking in corridor. Due to this and within 10 mins of arriving we decided this would not a a comfortable experience to stay in a small room with very little day light for two nights. It was our a mistake of not noticing we had booked a standard room with no view however over £200 per night for a box left us feeling short changed. We asked to pay extra to move but were told they had only a similar room on another floor! As hotel coukd offer no remedy and because we had already paid in advance, we ended up having to pay for a room across the road at Hotel Tonic as the thought of staying two nights in such a small room wouId ruin the trip.. we travel a lot and are not precious people who complain but this is the first timer we have ever decided to check out of a hotel within 10 mins of entering the room. One very disappointed guest. Don’t book a standard room!

    We did one night while passing though the area. The service was helpful and cheerful, the location was nice and the view was an added bonus. The room was big enough, though as people have stated, the elevator is VERY small. We lucked into a room which did not require the elevator, which was nice. Would consider staying here again.

    The Hotel is nice. We did put our car in a underground garage 5 min walk from the Hotel. Stuff were friendly. We had a nice room with a small terrasse. Room is clean. We had our room on the first floor and the only issue we had we heard people walking they made lots of noise. The Hotel is really bad isolated. Breakfast was very good.

    On the day of arrival, the heavens opened, and we arrived drowned. We eventually found reception lift out of order. One receptionist helped me carry my luggage to the room. Sorted ourselves out and went back to reception for advice on restaurants we ended up in the Italian restaurant it was fantastic. The rooms were ok, but for anyone tall, the toilet was close to the wall. Our morning waiter BEN was marvellous and looked after us brilliantly. I can't thank him enough. Great location for the and the clifftop walks. The ladies on reception were very helpful.
