Perfect Stay at Pierre Vacances Haguna, Biarritz.

    rating21 Oct 2022

A lovely little place that far exceeded our expectations. I stayed in a 2 berth self-contained studio apartment with balcony and a very well-equipped little kitchen area. The beds were really comfortable, and the whole place was ultra clean. The locale of Pierre Vacances is ideal as it is situated in a very peaceful area but only a stones throw from the main beach. It is also really close to the main restaurants, bars and shops. The underground car park was appreciated as we rented a car for most of the duration of our stay. All the staff were really friendly, especially the receptionists, who were very polite, helpful, and efficient. Can’t wait to visit again in 2023.StephenFulham,London SW6

    Trip to Biarittz

    rating07 Oct 2022

My friend and I spent 5 wonderful days in Biarittz and stayed at Pierre en Vacances. From the moment we arrived our stay was very memorable. Audrey at chec in couldn't do enough to help us. Her very good command if English and willingness to make our stay pleasant made a huge difference to our holiday. The apartment was spotless. Beds very comfortable and bed linen clean.I would stay here again as the location is v central and less than 5 mins from main beach, close to restrauanta and shops. 2 lovely boulangeries 2 mins walk and a carrefour city on our doorstep.

Modern, clean & a short(ish) walk to the main part of Biarritz

    rating02 Mar 2022

Desperate for a weekend away, post-French-lockdown, we stayed at Haguna for a weekend in June 2021. I was travelling with my husband and 5yo. This was our first trip to Biarritz. We managed to get a 2bedroom apartment which was more than we needed but really brilliant for our needs as a family. (Kid goes to bed in their own room; adults can stay up later)There's parking onsite which makes things easy, and the kitchen space was immaculate and modern. It is a short walk into town (about 10mins) but after the restrictions of covid, we didn't really mind this as we were just happy to explore.

    Nice for the price

    rating30 Jul 2021

I stayed at Haguna with a group of 8 friends and must say that our stay was great. The hotel delivers on their promises and has friendly and helpful staff. Checkin was easy and quick, the rooms clean and neat. The hotel in the perfect position in biarritz. Everything can be done by foot. Perfect if you are in to surfing or just want to see the beautiful town of biarritz with its wonderful beaches. Nevertheless if you have a car I recommend you to do an early morning trip to the dunes de pilat. I also recommend you not to book the breakfast with the hotel, since there are way cheap and delicious boulangeries in the same street. The only thing that was a bit annoying was the communication before our stay. The hotline of Pierre et Vacances is awful and our ad on flexible wasn’t as flexible as expected. But after my stay I really recommend this accommodation for the price.

    Nothing more than standard aparthotel

    rating10 Dec 2019

I booked this fairly last minute and a bit on a whim, mainly due to the spa facilities.Arrival was...problematic. Reception is closed between 12 and 16h00. You also can't check out before 9am, without leaving your keys in a box. This meant a long wait, in wet clothes, with all my luggage. And I was lucky to even get into the building as the doors operate off a code lock. This was a Saturday... When I did get to check in, the staff were really helpful, but there was another surprise - the room wasn't ready. So I left my luggage and went for a walk. Overall though, given this was more expensive than several nearby hotels, I was already disappointed. When I returned I was forced to put a deposit down of €300, which is a ludicrous amount for a deposit. Furthermore this was frozen from my bank account. This also takes 5 days to clear after checkout, and took even more for me. This was not convenient given my onward travel plans. The other issue to factor in is that you have to ensure you leave the apartment clean, with towels and sheets in a pile in the bathroom, and take your bins out - otherwise they'll take it out of your deposit. The room itself was poor. Kitchen was good condition, but poorly stocked in terms of utensils etc. The bathroom was standard for an aparthotel. But, it had a sofa bed. It was one of the ones that the mattress folds over as well. This wasn't comfortable, and you're less likely to close it up everyday. With only dining tables available, there is nowhere to relax. I would like to point out that the sofa was dirty as well when I arrived. I'm not sure, but I think maybe this is because of the way it folds over so it is facing the floor. That wasn't the only thing, I also had two dirty towels (one had clearly been used to remove makeup) and a robe with dubious brown stains on). Additionally, the walls in this place are paper thin, you can hear everything going on in nextdoor flats, the reception, etc. As I said, the spa was something that spurred me to book this place. I was impressed to hear that it is a private spa that you book through reception, so it will just be you there. Having said this, it is a bit difficult to entirely relax, as it was unclear whether someone could walk in at any moment if they had the code already. In the spa is a really good bed area for relaxing, large open shower, sauna, and steam room. These rooms are fairly small, but adequate for 2-4 in each. There is a toilet and changing area. I found the spa really relaxing, however as you only book an hour, and you can't go in early as someone else might be there, and you want to leave before it's up, you'd be surprised how quickly the time goes. This undermines some of the relaxation aspect, as you have to keep watching the clock (your clock though, as the clock they had there was broken - reception knew about it, but it was never fixed, and presumably just needed a battery!)Location is really good. There are some small supermarkets nearby, it is a short walk to the beach, a short walk to shops, restaurants, bars, and a nice relaxing authentic, residential neighbourhood. I really enjoyed being based here, and wandering around Biarritz. However, the downside was the accommodation. It wasn't cheap, but felt it. Very much so. I was not able to enjoy the facilities as much as anticipated (only available during reception opening hours, so not much availability on a Sunday). And overall it does not offer value for money. If you get it for a good deal and there isn't anything else available, it's probably fine. But there are too many downsides for me to want to stay there again, and overall you are better off in a nearby hotel. For those with kids, having an apartment is highly attractive, but once again, bear in mind you would probably have to upgrade from the studio anyway.Of course you could say "it is a Pierre et Vacances, what were you expecting?" But, firstly this is widely available on general hotel booking sites, and secondly it is supposed to be a premier tier brand for the company, so you would expect a higher level of service. SocialRoomPVCP, Guest Relations Manager at Pierre & Vacances Premium Residence Haguna, responded to this review Dear uncledavey80,Thank you for your extensive review about your stay at our Premium residence Haguna. We always appreciate the feedback we get from our guests and think it is very useful for future improvements of the services that we offer. We are sorry to read that the Premium residence did not live up to your expectations, that you were not satisfied with the value for money, and that the accommodation was not entirely clean yet upon arrival. In that case, it is best to go to the reception to report the inconveniences, so the staff members can offer a suitable solution on site. We always aim to provide our guests with the most comfortable holiday experience, so it is with great regret we learn that you were not content about the studio and that you felt stressed using the spa facilities. We are glad you found that the staff were helpful. The location is indeed certainly perfect, since it is closely situated to the beach, and to the surrounding cities and villages. Even though your stay did not turn out as initially expected, we were happy to welcome you at our residence and we hope that you were able to still enjoy your time in this beautiful region in the South of France. Kind regards,Pierre & Vacances Premium Résidence Haguna Team
