    Regular pit stop with a difference

    This is the 6th year we have used this hotel for our annual drive down to Spain and back with our 2 dogs.This is a great location for a pit stop just off the motorway and opposite a really lovely park and almost next door to a supermarket and fuel garage, perfect for our stopover, but this hotel is much more than a bedroom, the restaurant/bar is lovely, but the jewel in the crown is the staff, they are so welcoming and friendly and doing everything they can to make your stay memorable, a particular star is Jonas, what a legend, even remembers my name.Well done campanile, you have made our arduous journey a little bit easier every year.     room was clean but I did wipe down surfaces switches with alcohol gel given the covid situation breakfast collection simple and sensible. It would be nice to smell bleach or similar when you enter the room so you know its been disinfected between customer's.     Actions speak louder than words !As mentioned in a previous review, this is a perfectly acceptable Campanile. As I write there is no road noise. Maybe the rooms on the opposite side are more exposed. My wife reported the receptionist was fine when she booked in. There is a supermarket oppisite which suits us as we are travelling with a pet and don't want to leave him in the room on his own. There is also a filling station connected to the supermarket so you can fill up before continuing your journey.It's not the George V in Paris but I wouldn't expect it to be. Don't be put off by the negative reviews.     Overcharged, staff don't care!!

    Pre-booked and pre-paid this Campanile together with 4 others for a return driving holiday to southern France. Paid the restaurant bill from the previous night when leaving but found on checking my bank statement that the room had been charged again on the day I left. It then took 11 emails and several weeks to get the overcharge refunded. No apology or explanation for the overcharge was received.The hotel room itself was ok, but the reception and waiting staff didn't care whether they served you or not. Exchange differences meant that I was refunded less then originally paid but further emails went ignored.     Terrible place to stay

    This hotel is truly dreadful. The staff are surly and grumpy and the place is built at the side of the busiest roads in Bordeaux. It is totally impossible to sleep, due to the incessant road noise, which is deafening! The rooms themselves are very basic but OK - however to our astonishment there was a public ashtray located right outside of our room door. The smoke and smell of cigarettes was so strong, it was disgusting. A hotel chain like this, needs to wake up and realise that its 2018 and locating wall mounted ashtrays outside peoples bedrooms is no longer acceptable.If you are in the area, avoid this hotel, its basic, noisy,impossible to sleep and very expensive.
