    Stayed here after arriving late into Birdeaux airport. Less than 5 minutes by car from the terminal, with free parking.Tge staff were professional and welcoming and the room was clean and comfortable.Good choice of breakfast.     Hotel in the middle of a forest

    Stayed here for one night upon arriving into Merignac Airport.The only way to get to the Holiday Inn Merignac directly is walking which will take you approx 40 minutes, it's free for a start. You can get the number 39 bus from the airport to aeroparc bus stop which is only 5 stops away and then walk from that bus stop to the hotel which is approx 5 minutes away. 2 euro is the max cost.The only other route is a taxi from the airport directly to the hotel which will take around 10 minutes and would cost you approx 26 euroI chose the bus and it was an enjoyable journey, very cheap, the buses are frequent and run every 20 minutes.The hotel is very modern, clean, bright, spacious and airy.The rooms are very in keeping with the new style bedroom layouts for Holiday Inn branded, they all have the new corner sofa beds as standard along with either a double or two singles. A mini bar is also include. Iron and small safe. The premium rooms are much bigger.The staff are professional, bar staff are not particularly attentive or friendly but professional.Breakfast was decent enough, plenty of hot and cold items, buffet style.I would not particularly stay here again as there is nothing around, you are basically dependant on staying in the hotel for food as there are no eateries or shops nearby, you are basically within a business park within a forest.My advice if travelling to Bordeaux is to get the Tram from the airport Line A which takes you all the way into the centre of Bordeaux, its only 1.80 euro per person and takes approx 30 minutes.     This was our second stop venue on our driving down to the Algarve (Portugal). Two year old hotel positioned in a developing new area close to the Airport. Presently there is nothing to walk to (restaurants/cafe/bar/parks etc) so you are essentially confined to the Hotel itself. The evening meal dinner menu is very limited but what we did have was freshly prepared (see image). Room was clean and well presented with view of the wasteland. Secure well lit free car parking to its side. OK for one night or two though wouldn't like to 'Holiday' here.     Excellent Hotel within a short distance from the Airport. Staff extremely helpful. Hotel is spotlessly clean and rooms very spacious and comfortable. Bathroom was also very spacious. Great breakfast selection. Couldn't ask for more from an Airport Hotel.     Probably one of the best value for money and pleasant airport hotel I stayed at !The location in a small business park next to the forest is really relaxing. Rooms are brand new, well appointed and perfectly sound proofed. Restaurant with a short, but convincing, menu is very pleasant with its terrace giving onto the forest and a great selection of Bordeaux winesGreat staff as well. Definitely recommended if you need to stay close to Bordeaux Airport.
