    Great hotel in Bordeaux.

    rating04 Nov 2024

Our penultimate overnight hotel before crossing into Spain was in Bordeaux, we have stayed in Bordeaux quite a few times but never at the same hotel, so yet another different one this time. Our room on the 3rd floor had good views over the lake and beyond the city. Modern hotel with its own secure parking. Good food and drink options and close to tram in case you wanted to head into the city centre. Breakfast was also the best one we have had so far on our journey. Would most definitely consider this hotel again.

    Customer service needs work

    rating25 Jul 2024

We stayed here for 4 nights and the fire alarm went off twice! Once at midnight while we were asleep, the second time during the day. On both occasions there was absolutely no communication or evacuation procedure followed by the hotel staff which was a bit disappointing, not to mention unsafe…We evacuated the hotel along with some other guests at the hotel but not one member of staff directed us or came outside to tell us it was safe to come back. Another guest had to go inside and ask at reception if we could come back inside! Fire drills and unexpected circumstances are understandable, but you would expect some form of communication from the staff to guests, which unfortunately we did not receive on either occasion. For food, we had breakfast on the first morning, €25 per person which was quite expensive for what was on offer. Lunch / dinner menu is quite limited also. The room was clean and modern enough. We received daily towel changes and room clean which was hugely appreciated. The mini fridge was also restocked which was a nice touch. The location of the hotel is nicely situated with a tram stop directly outside (takes about 15mins into the centre). The rooftop pool is why we chose to stay there as it’s great to have a pool during the sunny weather ! The pool is quite deep, so be careful with children. The ladder to enter the pool is basically coming out of the tiles.. I can see someone falling off this and injuring themselves. There was also no bar / service at the pool, even for a bottle of water. We were told there was a phone you can ring the bar with, but this wasn’t working. All in all, the stay was fine and we were happy with our room for the 4 nights. I would not classify this hotel as 4 star however- 3 star at best. The customer service just needs some improvements.

    Pullman Bordeaux lac with kids

    rating21 Jul 2024

We stayed here for 3 nights in a family interconnecting room. Check in was good and reception staff generally helpful. Although nothing plush, the rooms were spacious, clean and the beds comfortable with a nice view of the Lac. Breakfast was just okay - not what you would typically expect at a four star hotel for selection and service. We didn’t eat dinner mainly because the menu was limited. The bar area is very nice and the kids enjoyed the pool table. Drinks very expensive ! Fanta orange 5 euros!!!! And bar staff not the most friendly. We picked this hotel as it had an outdoor pool which was nice to have but in the end was nothing special. The location is good for easy access to central Bordeaux in 15 minutes via the tram. We used electric scooter hire to the nearby shopping centre for food on our last night and would recommend this if here with kids for food choice and value. We had a comfortable stay but I have rated it three as we paid a four star price for what really did feel like three star standard.

    Budget not 4 Star

    rating06 Apr 2024

Having stayed here before we were disappointed with the change. “Budget” is a more apt description than 4 star. Restaurant closed at weekend - not what we expected having stayed here previously and arriving tired from the journey. Horrendous area to find ‘eatery’. Tv non functioning which was sorted by a new remote at reception. No water in room - you go to reception - request an empty bottle / and fill your own. No hand towels in room. Toilet paper seems rationed - half a roll. Corridor on 4th floor stale stinky smell. Huge change in atmosphere since our last visit and we will be avoiding. Oh and you are ‘relieved’ of €100 deposit guarantee on your card although you have fully prepaid which will take a week to reinstate - anywhere else the card is guarantee. Carine Bouyer, Directeur général at Pullman Bordeaux Lac, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent stay. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations this time.We apologize for the restaurant being closed on the weekend; we understand this was inconvenient, especially after a long journey. We will review our communication regarding restaurant hours to avoid future misunderstandings.Regarding the TV issue, we regret the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we resolved it. Concerning the water, we have indeed moved towards a more sustainable approach by offering refillable bottles at reception. However, we will consider ways to improve this process for our guests. We do provide hand towels in every room. As for the toilet paper, there is additional supply in the wardrobe, and we have now added a second holder based on guest feedback. We are also addressing the issue of the stale smell in the corridor to ensure a more pleasant atmosphere for all our guests. The €100 deposit guarantee is a standard procedure for any incidental charges, but we understand your concern and will review how we communicate this policy. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you faced. Please contact me directly at h0669-gm@accor.com so we can offer you a commercial gesture that should have been made at your departure. We appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve, and we hope to have the opportunity to restore your confidence in our hotel.Best regards,Mrs BOUYER Carine

    Not a great experience

    rating22 Mar 2024

My room on arrival was around 30 degrees. Immediately reported and told it would be sorted- it wasnt. Reported again late evening still nothing done. Sleep difficult. Next morning I was told by a manager that it was not possible to cool the room as the hotel was still set for heating (21 degrees outside!). Breakfast chaos- no cups, bowls or spoons and young staff incompetent. Hotel looks tired. Convenient for the two congress centres but not mush else
