Its the location that makes it bearable!

    rating04 Aug 2018

Location, location location is what i have to say!I spent a week with my family in one of their family rooms '2 x beds and 2 x sofa beds' The room was clean as far as the mopped floor was concerned and the towels were fresh but i was disapointed by the dirty covers on the sofas and the dead ants upstairs 'loads and loads of them and ive lived of the jungle floor for a couple of weeks so i know!' I would advise against using the upstairs floor if you have young children since its not safe due to the big gaps in the varanda and steep stairs. All 4 of us slept on the 2 x sofa beds 'felt like camping with a roof above our heads : ) ' I didnt complain 'my fault i must say ' since it was our 1st day and i didnt want to rock the apple cart just yet! The kitchen was basic and it had all the things you would need to cook a family meal 'pots, pans, cutlery, plates, bowls, cups etc' You have been warned, there is No oven, microwave or freezer...The toilet was large enough but you had to hang a towel on the back window to avoid getting too intimate with your neigbour 'who had a perfect view of your toilet!' Plus the shower head was chest height which was pretty funny actually 'must have been made for a Hobbit' but after a week getting a shower on your knees it kinda got a bit boring!I know that you dont go on holiday to watch Tv but it would have been nice to have one with at least more than 3 channels, but hey thats my opinion. The staff where helpfull but make sure you know some French 'like you should anyway' we had a power cut and it took a couple of attempts to explain the problem. Even then it took a couple of times too track the staff down to get the problem sorted. Now reference location. It smack bang in the middle of Porticcio 'excellent'Sufficient parking and 100m from the local supermarket and pharmacy. No more than a 5min walk and your on the beach. Bars, restaurants and nightlife a stone throw away. Saying all this you would expect it to be very noisy but i was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't.Would i stay here again ermmm....... not really because i would have rather paid for a vila for the same price or even forked out more for the space. If you want location though its spot on , check it out on google maps and decide for yourself.Ciao.

    Great location, nice reception

    rating22 Sept 2017

We stayed three nights in Porticcio and absolutely loved the location. There is a great ferry that takes you across to Ajaccio, saving you the hassle of dealing with terrible traffic and parking. The return cost of the ferry is 8 euros and it takes twenty minutes to cross. The hotel has a marvellous breakfast with juice, coffee, bread, croissant, and jams, all included with the price of the hotel. We loved walking along the beach and suntanning. The rooms are basic but adequate for our needs and the price was reasonable. Very good position

    rating22 May 2017

Rooms are rather small and basic but clean and adequate. A complementary continental breakfast is provided. The hotel is easy to find - on a roundabout in the middle of the town. It is In a very good position, 50m from the sandy beach and close to a large supermarket. Overall a good choice. MONDOLONI20166, Gérant at Hotel de Porticcio, responded to this review thanks for being such a nice regular guesst of our hotel ! we're looking forward to welcoming you two once again next year.A PRESTU !

    horrible!

    rating21 Sept 2015

The only description on the hotel website that is actually true is the location and the view: it is by the sea and it has a nice view. But the room and bath were disgusting! Tiny closet/bathroom with rusty, stained sink, shower and toilet. 40 year old stained carpet on the floor (never took my shoes off) and i was not sure the sheets had been cleaned, they didn't smell or look clean.I went down to the front desk to complain and the lady behind the counter said "that's the way it is here!", meaning if you're not happy that's too bad.I didn't touch anything and slept with all my clothes on and could not wait to get out of there in the morning.

Good hotel, close to the sea.

    rating08 Jun 2015

We stay for two nites in the hotel. Staff speaks English and they are very nice. Its very close to the sea, restaurants and shops. They have free private parking on site. They stored our bikes as well. Also a nice hike possible from the hotel. The breakfast is basic but good for the start. Wifi works perfectly. The bathroom is pretty small. I am not sure if a bigger person would manage to fit under the shower or toilet. Overall I would stay again.
