    Great choice in Calvi

    We spent a week in Calvi and this hotel was really a great choice. Set on a quiet road, 5 minutes walk from the very historic centre of Calvi, and facing the beautiful Corsican see, this is a very well run modern hotel with all the comforts and amenties one could need. The rooms are very clean and spacious, with a nice sized balcony. The hotel has both a good size outdoors swimming pool (with water at 30C) and an inside small pool with Jacuzzi and sauna. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, ready to help and answering all our questions and requests for recommendations. They also has a good breakfast. One of the best thing for me was that even if the hotel was fully booked, it never felt crowded and the atmosphere was always quite and relaxed. Highly recommended.

    Clean and modern, a bit of style

    The Revellatu is up the hill a bit from the centre of Calvi, so is quieter than some. The design is modern, but with little touches of gold detail eg in the dining room. Rooms are a fair size with decent facilities. Nice shower etc above average.There is a good pool, with a bubble pool too. We had breakfast which was quite good - choice and limitless coffee/tea.Suggest you ask for a room where next door's balcony does not offer a view into a third of your room (bad design). Cannot comment on dinner.

    Friendly and clean hotel

    A clean and friendly hotel, close to the centre of Calvi. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool is clean and open all the time. The bar is only open during the evening although if you are out visiting places that’s not a problem. The bedroom was comfortable enough for a 3 star, bed was comfortable and made up every day. A nice sized terrace although the furniture had seen better days. Walls are thin so there is a risk you will hear every noise in adjoining rooms. Bathroom was very small although kept clean and tidy. There is private and gated parking across the road from the hotel. Despite being on a main road there is no distracting road noise. The view from the balcony is great.

    On pictures the hotel look reasonably nice. However there are many shortcomings.- The room was described as 'large'. In fact it was much smaller than the promised 20 square metres. But the terras was bigger than the room. - The airconditioning was very very noisy. Even when shut of, there was a constant whistling noise. - the safety deposit box had not been attached to the wall. - they had to replace the main lighting during our stay. - breakfast was basic (horrible coffee) and served in a dark room in the back.The ham was not cooled. - the bathroom was small and very basic. - I was also frustrated with the attitude of the manager when I announced that we had a nest of ants in the room. She made it very clear that it was our fault for bringing food into the room. - The double bed was very small which made it difficult to sleep. Positive :+ view from the room+ parking along a cliff+ attitude of the staff

    Modern hotel with great views over the sea

    Hotel Revellata is located on the outskirts of Calvi, right on the coast facing north with great views over the sea. From some of the rooms you can probably see the town and the citadel – we couldn't from ours (room 313) but the view over the sea was nice anyway.The hotel is quite modern – perhaps not as cosy and charming as the other hotels where we stayed in Corsica, but the rooms are nice and clean with good-sized balconies, and the bathroom is quite spacious and with a fancy shower. Ours was partly broken (only the hand-held part worked) but this was quickly fixed the next day.Right in front of the hotel there is a marked trail (yellow markings) that goes around the point from where you have a spectacular view of the citadel. If you take the trail in the opposite direction you can follow it (again yellow markings) all the way out to the Revellata lighthouse – a gorgeous approx. 2-hour hike on a rustic, rocky path.An electric kettle and a small fridge are provided in the room.
