Basic room, no self catering facilities. Rude staff

    rating25 Feb 2020

Booked this self catering accommodation for the family as we were driving we were going to take shopping with us. As to feed 5 of us for a week would be very expensive. Lucky I messaged the property and asked what facilities they had. They told us they had no cooking facilities whatsoever, even tho it’s self catering. The mrs went and bought a little plug in hob, kettle and toaster just so we could make breakfast. As to eat breakfast at the property would’ve been over 400€ So wasn’t too bad, apart from no work surface to cook on. Had to do it on a bed side table. But we managed. Basically the rooms were just a load of beds with a bathroom. Literally nothing else. Didn’t really bother us too much as we still enjoyed our holiday as the location was perfect. But I’m not a fussy person. If you are expecting more than an en suite bedroom this place isn’t for you. We were pretty limited as it was the holidays there was no where else to stay. Really expensive aswell considering it was just a room. I would’ve give this room a 2 star rating. But after leaving is where the rude staff came into it. Before coming to France. I phoned up and paid in full and wasn’t aware of any more extra charges. So on the morning I left, we were driving home and I had a call off the hotel saying I owed over 500€ she said for parking and extra beds but you didn’t have breakfast. So she was quite clear on what it was for. I explained I have a very long drive I will pay tomorrow as soon as I get up. Couple of minutes after the phone call I get texts off the bank someone trying to take over £700 out of my account this made me really angry as I just explained I will pay tomorrow. In all honesty I just wanted to check with booking.com that I really did owe this money. I then phoned and asked y they tried taking the money when I’ve explained I will pay tomorrow. She then got really angry and started shouting telling me people always leave without paying. Well sorry love, but don’t class me as one of them people as I always pay my way. Next day I get home and they call me at like 7am and wake me up after a nightmare drive and ferry’s delayed and start again. I just asked for a break down of the price. 20€ for each extra bed per night. So 2 beds 7 nights. 280€ plus 15€ per day parking so another 105€. So why on earth are you trying to charge me over £700. Be very careful with this place as they will try and take more than you owe. Thief’s that’s what they are. I’ve paid them in full today 408 euros. By bank transfer as there’s no way I was trusting giving them card details over the phone so they can press whatever numbers they want. So never have to hear there moaning whingy voices again. Yayyy

    A nice comfortable homely place.

This hotel is ranked as a 3 star which in terms of official recognition is about right. However as a place to stay it is really good. It is traditional Alpine style in wood (or at least wood cladding) with a small balcony for each room. Our room was for 3 people - north facing with little good view, but the hotel has a large terrace at ground level which is south facing so you can happily "soak up the rays" after a day's skiing and enjoy the distant mountain views. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable, with a very small bathroom. Ours was in the eaves - very pretty but you had to watch your head!! The hotel serves breakfast only which was very good, and has a bar below it (also south facing) for beverage and snack intake. There are lots of restaurants very close. In fact the location was really good in that it was only around 200mts to the "across town basket lift" up to the slopes, or around 100mts to the bus stop for the free shuttle around the town. The staff - we only met 2-3 of them - were truly friendly and helpful.Just a warm unpretentious comfortable place to stay.

    Not for families

Good location, views and breakfast, but the hotel bar is the most popular bar in the resort with karaoke nights and loud music most night until 1-2 in the morning. Go here for a party not if you want to sleep.

I am not sure the hotel was even open

    rating21 Jun 2018

This hotel was booked by a friend so we could cycle Alpe D'Huezwhen we got there we done about 3 laps of the hotel as the place was in complete darkness, eventually a guy came up from the bar round the front and let us in we stayed there four days and never see a singkle other guest or employee our room was not cleaned or tended to once so for two men we had one roll of toilet paper each for four days the only tv channels on the lap top size tv were French we chose not to pay the 10 euro each for breakfast per day and would probably have had to cook it ourselves the view was good with mountains to the side of the hotel and was right at the bottom of the ski lifts but this really did feel like we were staying in an abandoned building and would not reccomend to anyone
